A Message from the Commons.

A Two-fold Message sent this Day from the Common House, and presented by Sir Frauncis Hastings and others:

Ecclesiastical Affairs.

1. Whereas, in the late Conference touching Matters of Religion, the Lord Bishop of London did exhibit an Instrument from the Convocation House, which they conceived to be prejudicial to both the Houses of Parliament; they therefore desired a further Conference; and that the Lord Bishop of London may then bring forth that Instrument.

Bp. of Bristol's Book.

2. Touching the Book written by the Lord Bishop of Bristoll, they acknowledge the Lords honourable Proceedings therein; but desired (for the better Satisfaction of the said House of the Commons) that the Writing, which they supposed to be set down by their Lordship's Order, concerning the said Bishop's Acknowledgment of his Error in that Matter, may be delivered, to be likewise entered and recorded in the Common House. Answer returned, That their Lordships will consider of these Propositions, and give them Answer in convenient Time.

Agreed afterwards, by the Lords, that, on Saturday next, 23 June, they will debate what Answer they shall give.

His Majesty's Commands concerning the Lords Attendance.

The Lord Chancellor, this Day, signified unto the Lords, That, as he had of late, by His Majesty's Commandment, given them Knowledge of His Highness's Pleasure, that they should diligently attend the Service of the Parliament; so he had now received Direction from His Majesty to renew the like Commandment unto them, and that none of them should be absent without His Majesty's special Licence.
