New York.

The draught of a letter to Lord Holdernesse concerning the fort built by the French at Crown Point within the province of New York was agreed to, transcribed and signed.

Barbados.

Ordered that the representation to his Majesty upon two Acts of Barbados, signed the 12th of July, do lye by for further consideration.

Virginia.

Read a letter from Mr. Dinwiddie, Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, to the Board, dated Williamsburg, 16th June, 1753, containing amongst other things an account of a settlement which the French are making upon the river Ohio, and transmitting:—
Andrew Montour's declaration, dated May 15th, 1753.
Lieutenant Governor Hamilton's letter to Mr. Dinwiddie, dated at Philadelphia, the 6th May, 1753.
A paragraph of a letter wrote by William West to the Governor of Pennsylvania, dated 7th May, 1753.

The draught of a representation to his Majesty with an extract of so much of Mr. Dinwiddie's letter as relates to the attempt of the French to build a fort at the Ohio River and also the draught of a letter to Lord Holdernesse inclosing the representation were ordered to be prepared, and having been prepared, were agreed to, transcribed and signed.

Miscellanies.

The Secretary laid before the Board an account of the incidental charges from the 5th of April to the 5th of July, 1752, amounting to three hundred, thirty-three pounds, four shillings, and the draught of a letter to the Lords of the Treasury desiring payment thereof and of the salaries due to the Secretary and under officers in the service of this Board for the same time, was signed.

Virginia.

Ordered that the Secretary do write an answer to Mr. Dinwiddie's letter.

Bermuda.

The Secretary laid before the Board the following papers received from Mr. Popple, Governor of the Bermuda Islands, viz.:—
Extract of a letter from Francis Jones, Esquire, President of the Council of the Bermuda Islands, to William Popple, Esquire, Governor of the said Islands, dated July 8th, 1753, inclosing:—
Deposition of Messrs. Atwood, Conyers, Cooper and Hayward, relating to the French seizing on Turks Island and some English vessels there, taken July 3rd, 1753.

The draught of a letter to Lord Holdernesse inclosing copies of the said papers, was signed.
