Derby. Inq. Wednesday before the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 13 Edw. I.
Stayngreve alias Stangreve in the manor of Hertingdon. The hamlet held of Sir Edmund the king's brother by service of 7s. and two attendances at the court of Hertingdon yearly.
Amice the wife of Walter de Miryden, his sister, aged 40 and more, and Richard son of Sir Adam de Herthill, his kinsman, aged 19, are his next heirs.

Warwick. Inq. Saturday after St. Bartholomew, 13 Edw. I.
Kyngesneweton. A messuage, 2 virgates land, a moiety of a windmill, which Roger de Appelby holds for life by the demise of the said Thomas for 6d. yearly, a moiety of a foreign wood, 7l. 8s. 11d. rent of assize, and a moiety of the advowson of the church, all held of the king in chief by service of ¼ knight's fee.
He died on Wednesday before the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 13 Edw. I.
He had no heir of his body ; but had two sisters, Joan the elder now dead, from whom issued Sir Adam de Hertwell who is dead, and from him Richard de Hertwell, aged 18 ; and Amice the other still surviving, wife of Sir Walter de Miridene, knight, aged 50 ; which Richard and Amice are his next heirs.
Warwick. Inq. Saturday after St. Bartholomew, 13 Edw. I.
Poleye. The manor (extent given) held in socage of the fee of Philip Marmyon, rendering a sparrowhawk yearly or 2s. for all service.
Staindelf in Tamworth parish. 1 virgate land with a messuage, whereof the said Thomas enfeoffed one Robert de Meynil by charter, rendering ½d. yearly to him and his heirs, which charter was delivered to the prior of Kanewell; and the said Robert made to the said Thomas his writing,
containing that if the said Thomas should pay him 26 marks at the feast of St. Michael, 15 Edw. I., the said land should revert to him and his heirs, but if not the said Robert should hold his estate therein for ever. Staindelf pertains to no town.

Warwick. Inq. Friday the feast of St. Bartholomew, 13 Edw. I.
Bakynton. A messuage, a park of 12a., 1 carucate land, 12a. meadow, 79s. 9½d. rent of assize of free men, 45s. 8d. rent of assize from four customers, 4s. 4d. from cottars, a water-mill, a fishery with a warren, &c.; also 30a. land, which he bought of one Augustine son of Robert to him and Alice sometime his wife and their heirs, which Augustine survives, to whom he should find all necessaries as an esquire for life; which lands &c. he held of Sir Thomas de Arderne by service of 1 knight's fee.

Baddisle. The manor (full extent given with names of tenants) held of Sir Richard de Havercurt by service of 1 knight's fee. Alice sometime the wife of the said Thomas claims a third part of the whole in dower.
Date of death, and heirs as above, aged about 17, and 35 and more.
Writ to Thomas de Normanvill, escheator, to enquire whether Richard, son of Adam de Herthull, who was born and baptized at Herthull, is of full age as he says, 24 May, 14 Edw. I.
Nottingham. Inq. Wednesday after St. Barnabas, 14 Edw. I.
Richard de Hertil was born at Calnaton in co. Nottingham and baptized in the church there on Jan. 21 last past [twenty-]one years ago.
Writ to the escheator to enquire whether the said Thomas demised to Master Henry Luvel, deceased, the manor of Stanegge for life, 1 Feb. 15 Edw. I.
Derby. Inq. Tuesday the eve of St. Gregory the Pope, 15 Edw. I.
Staneg' alias Stanegge. The manor was demised by the said Thomas to Master Henry Lovel, now deceased, for his life, and if he should die within twenty-eight years, then for the term of twenty-eight years; and Richard de Herthul is one of the heirs of the said Thomas and in the king's wardship.

Caple and Baysam. A messuage, two parts of 1 carucate land, 3a. meadow, a piece of underwood, a windmill, 11s. rent of assize, and pleas &c. held of Alan Plukenet, lord of Kylpec, in chief by service of ½ knight's fee, and doing suit at the court of Kilpec.
Kilpec manor. A messuage, 1 carucate land, and 5a. meadow, held of the said Alan rendering 5s. yearly, and doing suit as abovesaid.
Robert his son, aged 21 at the feast of the Assumption, 12 Edw. I., is his next heir.
Gloucester. Inq. made at Staunton in the forest of Dene on Saturday before SS. Philip and James, 13 Edw. I.
Forest of Dene. 6a. land (unspecified) with the serjeanty of the fee of going on foot through the whole forest to attach for vert and venison and other things by command of the constable of St. Briavel, held of the king in chief.
Lyden[ey]. A messuage and 12a. land, held of the inheritance of Elizabeth late his wife who still survives, of Sir William de Bello Campo earl of Warwick, rendering 2s. yearly and suit at the court of Liddeney.
Piriton. A mill, held of the said inheritance of the same Sir William, service unspecified.

King's Pyon. A messuage, 1 virgate arable, a moiety of a water-mill, whereof the mother of the said William has a moiety of the said mill in dower, 3a. wood, and ½a. meadow at Lungemed, held of Sir Geoffrey de Genevile by serjeanty, doing suit of court, and rendering 3s. 6d. yearly ; 20a. arable held by the said William and Elizabeth his wife of the said Sir Geoffrey, rendering 40d. yearly and suit of court; and ½ virgate land held of the dean and chapter of Hereford, of which his mother has a third part in dower, rendering 2s. 6d. yearly.
Pyon. 6a. arable held by the said William and Elizabeth of Walter Boter, rendering 1d. for all service.
Pyon manor. 100a. arable held by the said William and Elizabeth of Roger de Mukelfeld, rendering 23s. yearly.

(Unspecified.) 6 virgates land containing 27a. each, 15½a. and 1r. meadow, 5a. pasture, 3 messuages, a born-bondman (nativum) rendering to the value of 5s. 6d. and other tenants (names given), held of Nicholas Fermbaud, paying 4s. 4¾d. for the guard of the castle of Northampton, and for suit and hidage 3s. 7¾d. yearly.
One John, aged 14, is his heir.

(Unspecified.) A capital messuage &c., 15s. rent of assize from free tenants, 16s. rent and works from four customers, 60a. arable, and 4a. meadow; and the advowson of the church of Granzete pertained to the said Eustace. The lands of which he was seised came after his death to the hands of Joan late his wife by the grant of King Henry ; and he held of the king in chief whatever be held in the counties of Cambridge and Huntingdon by service of ½ fee, and he held nothing of any other.

Sutkellesay. A capital messuage and 3 tofts.
Sutkellesay and North Kellesay. 50a. arable.
North Kellesay. 16a. arable, 15a. meadow in the marsh, a wind-mill and a toft. All held of the king's soke of Caster as a free socman, rendering yearly to the bailiffs of the soke 9s. 9d.; and 2 bovates land, which were the king's escheat through the death of Osbert and Thomas Pecche, brethren, who died without heirs, and which king Henry gave to one Pentecostes his servant, rendering 6s. 8d. to the said soke, and for increase at the king's exchequer 8s. yearly, and the same Pentecostes enfeoffed the said Peter thereof for the said service.
Peter de Haddeclive alias Addeclive, aged 22 on the feast of the Purification, 13 Edw. I., and Peter Cobbe, aged 17 on the feast of All Saints, 12 Edw. I., sons of Isabel and Maud, daughters and heirs deceased of the said Peter, are his next heirs.

Leye under Brochurst, was held by Bertram de Burgo of the said John for ½ knight's fee.
Cantelop. A moiety was held by Hugh son of John by service of ¼ knight's fee.

Bolum. 160a. land in demesne, 5 bondages of 24a. each, 3 cottagers holding 6a. each, the service of William Cosin worth 40s. 6d., the service of the brethren of the hospital of St. Mary worth 3s. 8d., 2 messuages and 4 bovates land.
Lithedon. 1 toft and 1 rood of land, the service of Sir Walter de Camhow worth 1½d. yearly, and the middle of the forest and moor of Lithedon.
Denum. The service of a moiety of the free tenants.
Burnton. The service of John de Eggiston for the manor.
Wytton. The services of John de Vallibus and N ... de Redeley.
Ayden. The middle manor, but she took nothing there on the day she died, for she enfeoffed John her son thereof, which is now seized into the king's hand because she enfeoffed him without the king's licence ; also the service of the heirs (?) ... de Bradeford.
All the above held of the king in chief by service of 1½ knight's fee, and 20s. yearly for the guard of the castle of Newcastle upon Tyne, because so much guard pertains to 1½ fee yearly.
Le Scortflat. The manor and 160a. land, held of the heirs of Hugh de Bolbeck.
Midilton. 9 bondages, 4 cottages, the service of Henry the proctor, 42s. yearly from 3½ bondages, but William Wigayin (?) sometime took seisin of the same as of her enfeoffment, 24s. from 2 bondages, and 10 marks from the mill, but one Clemence de Blaunchevile similarly took seisin thereof.
Camhowe and Shafthow. The service of Sir Walter de Camhow for the said manors, which are of the barony of the heirs of Bolbeck, worth 6d. and 1 mark.
Hawik. 4s. from the service of Walter de Hawik for the said manor, which is of the said barony.
For all which she rendered 20s. yearly to the said heirs.
Hugh her son, aged 30, is her next heir, unless any writing or fine made before the king's justices hinders, of which the jury know nothing.
