Footnotes

  • 1. The Exchequer copy gives an extent of the manor, which includes a fair held on the feast of St. Margaret.
  • 2. The entries under the headings Dagnal, Edlesburgh and Dagenhale appear to be, in effect, an extent of the manor of Dagnall, although they are not cast in the usual form.
  • 3. The day of the month appears to be written over an erasure. Later in the inquisition the date of death is given as 24 May.
