Prayers.
Rodes' Decree, &c.
A BILL, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for Confirmation of a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Four-and-twentieth Day of February, Anno regni Regis Caroli Secundi vicesimo septimo, in a Cause between Sir Francis Rodes Baronet, since deceased; and Dame Martha his Wife, Plaintiffs; and William Thornton an Infant, by Ciprian Thornton his Guardian, and John Thornton, and the said Ciprian Thornton, Defendants; and of several Conveyances and Assurances made by the said Sir Francis Rodes, in pursuance thereof, as well for Payment of his Debts, as for Provision of his Wife and Children; was read the First time.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time.
Lord Morley's Estate.
Sir John Otway reports from the Committee to whom the Bill to enable the Lord Morley to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, was committed, That the Committee had perused the Bill; and had summoned and heard all Parties concerned: And had returned the Bill without any Amendment.
Navy and Army Estimates.
Ordered, That the Committee, to whom the Consideration of the Estimate of the Charge of setting forth and maintaining Ninety Ships of War, for a Month, and of the Charge of Six-and-twenty Regiments of Foot, Four Regiments of Horse, and Two Regiments of Dragoons, is committed, have Leave to sit this Morning, during the Sitting of the House.

A Bill for the better Discovery of the Estates of Richard Thompson, Edward Nelthrop, and others, Bankrupts, was read the Second time.

Wheeler, Sir John Barnaby, Lord Gorge, Mr. Solicitor General, and all the Gentlemen of this House, that are of the Long Robe: And they are to meet in the Inner Court of Wards, on Thursday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon: And they are also to inspect and peruse the Statutes against Bankrupts; and to provide Remedies to supply such Defects as they shall find therein; and to report the same to the House: And the Parties concerned in this Bill are to be summoned to come in, and be heard, if they please; and are to have the Privilege of this House, in coming to, and attending the Committee; and in their Return Home: And the Committee is impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.
Insolvent Debtors.
An ingrossed Bill for Release of poor Prisoners for Debt, was read the Third time:
And Three Amendments made at the Table, by making the "Six-and-twentieth of March" the "Second of February."
Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for Discharge of Persons in Prison for Debt, before the Second of February 1677.
Poor Laws.
Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Consideration of the Laws concerning the Poor is committed, be revived; and do sit this Afternoon.
Interment of Charles I.
Sir Tho. Meeres delivers in a Bill for the more decent and solemn Interment of his late Sacred Majesty King Charles the First; and erecting a Monument: Which was read the First time.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time.
Newarke Election.
Sir Tho. Meeres reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, to whom it was referred to consider, Whether the Petition of Peniston Whalley Esquire was preferred within the Time limited by Order of the House, That the Committee had taken the same into their Consideration; and had agreed upon a Resolve: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was again read; and, upon the Question, agreed to; and is as followeth.
Resolved, &c. That the Petition of Peniston Whalley Esquire, complaining of an undue Return of a Burgess for Newarke, did not come in due Time, according to the Orders of the House.
Eye Election.
Sir Tho. Meeres reports from the Committee of Elections and Privileges, the State of the Case touching the Election for the Borough of Heye, alias Eye, in the County of Suffolke: And that the Committee had agreed upon a Vote: Which he read in his Place: And afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was again read; and is as followeth:
Resolved, &c. That Robert Reeves Esquire is duly elected to serve in this Parliament, for the Borough of Heye, alias Eye, in the County of Suffolke.
The Question being put, To agree with the Committee;
The House divide.
And so it was resolved in the Affirmative.

Bridport Election.
Sir Tho. Meeres reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, That the Committee had taken the Matter concerning the Election for the Borough of Bridport in the County of Dorset into their Consideration; and had agreed upon a Vote: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was again read; and, upon the Question, agreed to, and is as followeth; viz.
Resolved, &c. That Mr. Bowerman is duly elected to serve in this present Parliament, for the Borough of Bridport in the County of Dorset.
And then the House adjourned till Thursday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
