Prayers.

Lord Kilmurrey's Estate.

SIR John Birkenhead reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for the Payment of the Debts of Charles late Lord Viscount Kilmurrey, and for raising Portions for Byron Nedham and Charles Nedham Two of his younger Sons, was referred, several Amendments, agreed to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Importing foreign Silks.

A Petition of the Bailiff, Wardens, and Assistants of the Company of Weavers of London, was tendered, and received.

Berkley's Estate.

A Bill to enable Trustees to sell an Estate of Thomas Berkley Esquire, for the Payment of Debts, was read a Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Henry Ford, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Edward Deering, Sir Edm. Jennings, Sir John Trevor, Sir John Coriton, Serj. Maynard, Mr. Wright, Sir John Knight, Serjeant Jones, Mr. Hopkins, Sir Tho. Lee, Mr. Maynard, Sir John Otway, Mr. Onslow, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Adam Browne, Mr. Culliford, Sir Jonath. Trelawny, Sir Wm. Wentworth, Mr. Crouch, Serj. Rigby, Mr. Buller, Colonel Sands, Mr. Westphaling, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Bennett, and all that serve for the Counties of Devon and Cornwall: And they are to meet on Monday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And they are to send for all Parties concerned in the said Bill; and to examine, how the Conveyances stand; and what the Debts are that stand charged upon the Lands; and what the Value of the Lands are, that are by the Bill appointed to be sold; and to report the same to the House.

Committees added.

Ordered, That Sir Geo. Downing be added to the Committee, to whom the Bill for reviving and continuing the Act for Exportation of Leather is referred.

Ordered, That Sir Adam Browne, Sir John Brampston, Mr. Hopkins, Mr. Chetwin, Mr. Williams, Sir John Knight, Sir Trevor Williams, Mr. Crowch, and Mr. Onslow, be added to the Committee, to whom the Bill for the Augmentation of small Vicarages is referred: And that the said Committee do meet in the Speaker's Chamber, for the future; and not in the Inner Court of Wards, as was formerly appointed.

Hearth Money.

Ordered, That all the Members that serve for the several Counties of Yorke, Darby, Stafford, Warwick, Wilts, and Hereford, be added to the Committee, to whom the Bill for preventing the Abuses in collecting the Duty of Hearthmoney, is referred: And that all that come are to have Voices: And that the said Committee be revived; and do sit this Afternoon, in the Place formerly appointed.

Davies' Debts.

Sir John Knight reports from the Committee to whom the Bill to enable Trustees to raise Monies towards Payment of the Debts of Alexander Davies Gentleman, deceased, was referred, several Amendments, agreed by the said Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same being again twice read, with some Amendments made at the Table, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Coal and Wood Measures.

A Bill for regulating the Abuses in the Measures of Coals and Wood, was read the First time.

The Question being put, That this Bill be read a Second time;

It passed in the Negative.

Importing foreign Silks.

The Petition of the Bailiffs, Wardens, and Assistants of the Company of Weavers of London, delivered in this Day; complaining of the Importation of foreign wrought Silks and Stuffs; and of a Frame or Loom lately used for the making many Ribbons at once, to the Destruction of the Trade of Weaving, was read.

Assault on de Luzancy, &c.

Sir John Mallett reports from the Committee to whom the Matter about the Narrative relating to Monsieur de Luzancy, was referred, the Examination of one Daniell Cordier, taken before the said Committee: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which being there read, is as followeth; viz.

"Friday, 12th November, 1675.

"Daniell Cordier a French Gentleman, being examined, saith, He hath been examined before the King in Council, Monday last in the Evening; and refers himself to his Examination of what he hath there said: But further saith, That Monday last about Noon, he being walking in St. James Park, with Mons. Blanchard, Secretary to the French Ambassador, and Mons. Le Pin, Clerk or Writer to Secretary Coventrey, and Mons. L'angle, a French Minister; they did see Mons. St. German walking in the said Park, from Whitehall towards. St. James House; and that the said Mons. St. German did stop a while, and talk with a Gentlewoman in the Walk there.

A Debate arising thereupon;

Resolved, &c. That an Address be presented to his Majesty, representing to him the Default of not apprehending Mons. St. German: And that it be referred to Sir Tho. Lee, Sir Tho. Meres, Lord Cavendish, Mr. Sacheverell, Sir Eliab Harvey, Mr. Williams, Mr. Powle, Mr. Secretary Williamson, Sir John Reresby, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Mr. Hopkins, Sir Tho. Clergis, Mr. Finch, Colonel Byrch, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Nich. Carew, Sir Wm. Coventrey, Sir John Hotham, Sir Hen. Goodrick, Sir Rob. Thomas, Sir John Holland, or any Three of them, to prepare and draw up the said Address upon the Debates of the House.

Several Motions being made for the Encouragement of Converts from the Roman Catholick Church to the Church of England; and particularly of Dr. Brevall, Mons. De Luzancy, and Mons. La Mott;

And the House being informed by Mr. Secretary Williamson, that his Majesty had been pleased already to prefer Dr. Brevall to be Prebend of Rochester; and designed him some further Preferment;

Ordered, That the Thanks of this House be returned to his Majesty, for his great Care for Promoting the Protestant Religion, in preferring Dr. Brevall a Convert from the Roman Catholick Church; and for his Grace and Favour towards him: And that Mr. Secretary Williamson do return the Thanks of his House accordingly.

Ordered, That Mons. de Luzancy, and Mons. La Mott, Two Converts from the Roman Catholick Church, be recommended by the House to his Majesty, as Persons fit to partake of his Majesty's Grace and Favour in preferring them.

The House being moved, that Mr. Barker, the Chaplain now attending this House, be also recommended by this House to his Majesty, as a Person fit for Preferment;

Ordered, That Mr. Barker; the Chaplain now attending this House, be recommended by this House to his Majesty, as a Person fit to partake of his Majesty's Grace and Favour, in preferring him.

Information being given to the House of certain dangerous Words spoken by some Popish Recusants, upon the Occasion of the Matter relating to Mons. de Luzancy;

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to whom the Narrative of Mons. de Luzancy is referred, to examine the Matter of the said Information; and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Privilege-Lords Jurisdiction; Shirley v. Fagg.

The House being informed, that the House of Lords had appointed to hear the Cause upon the Appeal brought by Dr. Shirley against Sir John Fagg, a Member of this House, on Saturday the Twentieth of this instant November; and that the said Order was this Day served upon Sir John Fagg;

And the Order being read;

Resolved, &c. That the further Consideration thereof be adjourned till Monday Morning next.

Woollen Manufacture.

Resolved, &c. That this House will on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the State and Condition of the Woollen Manufacture; and how to improve it.

Irish Cattle.

Resolved, &c. That this House will on Friday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Act for prohibiting the Importation of Irish Cattle.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning next, at Eight of the Clock.
