Benjamin Caudry and John Waymans this Day took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, in order to their Naturalization.

The Bill for Naturalization of Jacob David, and others, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Chancery Lane, &c.

A Bill for opening a Passage between Chancery Lane and Little Lincolne's Inn Fields, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Preservation of Fishing.

Mr. Streete reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for the Preservation of the Fishing in several Rivers of this Kingdom, was committed, several Amendments agreed to be made, and a Proviso to be added, to the Bill: Which he read in his Place, with the Coherence in the Bill; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table; where the same being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

A Motion being made, to add the Words "Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London," after the Words "Lord Mayor," in the last Proviso of the Bill, and to make the Word "his" "their;"

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "Commonalty and Citizens of the City . . . ." be added after the Words "Lord Mayor;" and that the Word "his" be made "their," in the last Proviso in the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the Words "Terst and Itchin," be added after the Word "Frome," in the Recital of the Rivers.

A Proviso for the City of Chester was read twice; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill with the Amendments and Provisoes agreed to, be ingrossed.

Regulating the Printing Press.

A Bill for Continuance of a former Act, intituled, An Act for preventing the frequent Abuses in printing seditious, treasonable, and unlicensed Books and Pamphlets, and for regulating of Printing, and printing Presses, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time on Wednesday next, after Ten of the Clock.

Northern Borders.

A Bill to prevent Theft and Rapine on the Northern Borders, was read the First time.

That this Petition be referred to the same Committee, to whom the Bill to prevent and suppress Pedlars, Hawkers, and Petty Chapmen, stands referred; to take the Matter of the Petition into Consideration; and what is fit for the Petitioners Relief; and to make Provision for it in the Bill; or report the Matter, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Coal Trade.

A Bill for the Ease of the Coal Trade, was read the First time.

Supply.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Matter touching the Supply.

Sir John Trevor took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir John Trevor reports from the Committee of the whole House, That they had agreed a Vote, to be reported to the House: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which is as followeth;

Resolved, &c. That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Supply for building the Ships, shall be made payable into the Receipt of the Exchequer; and be kept separate, distinct, and apart from all other Money whatsoever; and appropriated and applied for the Building, and towards the Guns, Rigging, and other Furnishing, of the Twenty Ships, and to no other Use: And that Penalties shall be inflicted upon the Officers of the Exchequer, Navy, and Ordnance, and all other Persons respectively, through whose Hands any Part of the said Supply shall pass, in case the said Supply, or any Part thereof, shall be otherwise diverted or misapplied: And that the Account for the said Supply shall be transmitted to the Commons of England in Parliament: And humbly moved, from the said Committee, That the House would order a Bill to be brought in, pursuant to the several Votes reported from the said Committee.

The Vote, now reported, being read at the Clerk's Table, was, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. The Question being propounded, That the Bill for appropriating the Customs to the Use of the Navy shall be annexed to the Bill to be brought in for the Raising of a Supply for the Providing, Equipping, and Furnishing the Twenty Ships;

A Motion being made, That these Words, "That this House will take into Consideration the Anticipations upon the Revenue of the Customs," be made Part of the Question;

The Question being put, That these Words, "That this House will take into Consideration the Anticipation upon the Revenue of the Customs," be made Part of the Question;

It passed in the Negative.
