Prayers.
ALVARA Dacosta did this Day take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy before the Speaker, at the Clerk's Table, in order to his Naturalization.
Sending Soldiers abroad.
The House being informed, that there are some Soldiers, with their Horses and Arms, now in a Readiness to be transported into foreign Parts;
Ordered, That an Address be made to his Majesty, by Sir Wm. Coventry, to restrain their Exportation; the Matter being now under the Consideration of the House, for strengthening the Nation against foreign Invasion.
Woodmongers and Inn-holders.
Upon a Report made by Mr. Pryn, from the Committee appointed to inquire into the Abuses of Woodmongers;.
Resolved, &c. That the Clerk of the Woodmongers Company be sent for, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms or his Deputy, for his Contempt, in refusing to appear, and bring in his Books belonging to the Company, to the Committee, though he were summoned so to do.
Resolved, &c. That the Master of the Woodmongers Company do, at his Peril, attend the Committee appointed to inquire into Abuses of Woodmongers, Tomorrow in the Afternoon; and cause the Books of By Laws, and such other Books as concern the Company, to be brought in to the Committee.
Ordered, That the Lord Mayor of the City of London, the Bailiff of the City of Westminster, and the Bailiff of the Borough of Southwarke respectively, be required forthwith to put the Law of 43 Eliz. Chap. 14. touching the Act of Talwood, Billet, and Faggots, in Execution: And that they do accordingly forthwith inquire, find out, and seize, all such Wood and Faggots as they shall find in the Hands of the Woodmongers, and Retailers of Wood and Faggots, under the Assize prescribed by the said Statute; and that they do thereupon forthwith deliver, or cause the same to be delivered, to the Overseers of the Poor, in their respective Parishes; to be distributed to the Poor of the same Parishes; as by the same Act is directed in that Behalf: And that they give an Account thereof to the House on this Day Sevennight.
East Rainham Rectory.
Sir John Holland reports from the Committee to which the Bill for settling the Glebe Lands belonging to the Rector of East Rainham in Norfolk, was committed, several Amendments to be made to the said Bill: Which, being twice read, were, upon the Question, agreed.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.
Bedford Level.
A Bill for assessing of the Taxes of certain Fen Lands, lying in Bedford Level, was read the Second time.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Mr. Pryn, Mr. Pepys, Sir Solloman Swayle, Sir Tho. Lee, Sir Thomas Gower, Mr. Morrice, Col. Reames, Sir Gilbert Talbott, Mr. Rigby, Sir Geo. Clarke, Sir John Bennett, Sir John Moreton, Sir Wm. Terringham, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Sir John Napper, Sir John Talbott, Sir John Goodrick, Lord Ancram, Sir Adam Browne, Sir John Holland, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Nich. Carey, Sir Tho. Allen, Mr. Cooke, Sir Walter Younge, Sir Edm. Windham, Mr. Otway, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Edw. Massey, Sir Tho. Higgons, Sir Clifford Cliffton, Sir Robert Carr, Lord St. John, Mr. Maynard, Sir Rich. Francklin, Col. Phillipps, Sir John Coventry, Mr. Streete, Sir William Lewis, Mr. Price, Mr. Westfaling: And they are to meet To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

A Petition of Colonel Samuel Sands was read.
Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the same Committee; to inquire the Matter of the Petition; and report it, with their Opinions, to the House.
Miscarriage of the War.
Mr. Secretary Morrice, by Leave from his Majesty, gave an Account of what he knows concerning the Miscarriage and Dividing of the Fleet.
Ordered, That Mr. Secretary Morrice be desired to peruse his Letters and Papers of Intelligence; and set down, in Writing, the particular Dates of those Letters that gave him Intelligence of the Dutch Fleet coming forth; and of their being out accordingly; and the Time of Reception; and when imparted; and the Dates of the Orders thereupon; and the Time of the dividing the Fleet: And bring in the same to the House, with the Letters themselves which contain nothing but what relates to the Matter aforesaid; and, for such Letters as do contain other Matters, the Contents of so much in them as concern this Affair.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
