Prayers.

MONSIEUR Depuij took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, in order to his being naturalized.

Beralston Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do deliver out the Writ, for Election of a new Member to serve for the Town of Beralston in the County of Devon.

Montgomery Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do deliver out the Writ, for Election of a new Member to serve for the Town of Montgomery in the County of Montgomery.

Regulating the Press.

The Bill for continuing a former Act for regulating the Press, was read the Second time.

And an additional Clause, to be added to the Act, was twice read.

Resolved, That the said Bill and Clause be committed to Sir Rob. Atkins, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Jo. Knight, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Jo. Birkenhead, Sir Row. Berkley, Mr. Yorke, Sir Rich. Oatley, Mr. Westphaling, Sir Fran. Clerke, Mr. Coleman, Mr. Crowch, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Mountague, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Winst. Churchill, * *, Sir Solomon Swale, Sir Edw. Hele, Sir Cliff. Clifton, Mr. Sandis, and all the Members that are of the Long Robe, and such as serve for the Two Universities: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Law School: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records. And the Committee are also impowered to consider of the Defects in the Act against Conventicles; the Act for repairing Highways; or any other Acts: And also to consider, What temporary Acts, or temporary Clauses, in any Acts, are fit to be continued; and to make Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Name of Anthony Hernick be inserted into the Bill of Naturalization.

Preserving Game.

Sir Robert Atkins reports from the Committee to which the Bill to prevent Artificers, and other mean Persons, from destroying of Hares, Partridges, and other Game, . . . . some Amendments agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered in the same at the Clerk's Table: Which Amendments being twice read;

And some Debates arising upon the Bill and Amendments;

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments, be re-committed to the former Committee: And the Committee are revived; and to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, at the Place formerly appointed.

English Fugitives.

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed, to look into the former Laws touching such English Natives as are Fugitives, or in Service with the Dutch, or elsewhere, against his Majesty; and to see, Wherein the former Laws are defective; and to receive such Expedients as shall be offered; and to prepare a new Bill, to supply the Defects of the former Laws, and to provide for the better Discovery, Tryal, Conviction, and Punishment, of English Fugitives.

And it is referred to Sir John Birkenhead, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Serjeant Maynard, Sir Rob. Atkins, Sir Jo. Heath, Sir Job Charleton, Sir Rich. Temple, Lord Ancram, Sir Tho. Gower, Mr. Solicitor General, Sir Edw. Thurland, Mr. Mountague, Sir Wm. Moreton, Mr. Coleman, Sir Rich. Braham, Sir Wm. Coventry; or any Five of them; And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Divinity School: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Supply Bill.

The House then resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration the Bill for granting the Sum of Twelve hundred and Fifty thousand Pounds to his Majesty, for his present further Supply.

Sir Robert Atkins took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker took the Chair again.

Sir Robert Atkins reports from the said Committee, That they had made some further Progress in the said Bill: And humbly moved, That the House would resolve into a Committee again, to proceed upon the said Bill, when the Sub Committee to whom they had referred some Matters relating to the said Bill, should be ready with their Report.

St. Mawes' Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do deliver out the Writ for Election of a new Member to serve for the Borough of St. Mawes, in the County of Cornewall.

Distresses for Rents.

An ingrossed Bill, sent down from the Lords, for a more speedy and effectual Proceeding upon Distresses and Avowries for Rents, was read the Second time.

Atkins reports from the Committee of the whole House, That they had agreed the Distribution of the Sums to be assessed on the several Counties; together with some Amendments to be made, and a Clause to be added to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which List of Distribution of the particular Sums to be assessed on the several Counties, and the Amendments and Clause agreed by the Committee, were twice read.

And some Amendments being made, and agreed, at the Table;

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, Amendments, and additional Clause, with the Alterations agreed to, be ingrossed.
