Lord's Day.
A BILL for the better Observation of the Lord's Day, was read the First time.
Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time the first Monday of the Meeting of the House after Christmas.
Merchant Adventurers.
A Bill for Relief of the Creditors of the Company of Merchant Adventurers of England, was read the Second time.
The Question being put, That the Bill be committed;

Cumberland Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Knight for the County of Cumberland in the room of Sir Patricius Curwen, deceased.
Loyal Officers.
Sir Thomas Littleton reports from the Committee to whom it was referred to take an Account of the Money collected for the indigent loyal Officers, What was in Arrear, and by whose Default it was not paid in. That upon Examination of the Matter, they found above Five thousand Pounds to be still resting in the Hand of * Grills Esquire, Receiver for the County of Cornwall; which he promised to pay in long since, but had failed: And that the Opinion of the Committee was, That he should, for his Abuse therein, be sent for in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms.
Ordered, That Mr. Grills, Receiver for the County of Cornwall, who hath, in his Hands, a great Sum of Money collected for the indigent loyal Officers, which he refuses to pay in, be sent for in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy; to answer his Misdemeanor and Abuse, in not paying in the Money to the Treasurer appointed for Receipt thereof.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Justinian Lewen and Sir Moundeford Brampston;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down Two Bills, the one intituled, An Act for Enabling of Trustees to sell Part of the Estate of Samuell Sandys the elder, Esquire, and of his Son Samuell Sandys, for the Payment of Debts; the other intituled, An Act for the Enabling of Thomas Juckes of Treliddan, in the County of Mountgomery, Esquire, to sell Lands for the Payment of his Debts, and raising of younger Childrens Portions: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
County Assessments.
Sir Phillip Warwick reports from the Committee to whom it was referred to distribute the Forty thousand Pounds amongst the Nine Counties, That the Committee had agreed upon a Distribution: Which, being reduced into Writing, he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Cleak's Table: And it being again read and debated;
Resolved, &c. That it be referred back to the Committee that brought in the Medium, to cast up, arithmetically, how much of the Forty thousand Pounds shall be distributed to each of the Nine Counties, according to the Proportion they stand rated in the Medium.
Resolved, &c. That the House be adjourned till Thursday the Twelfth Day of January next.
