Astley's Estate.

A BILL for settling the Manors and Lands of Sir Jacob Astley was, this Day, read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Friday next.

Fishing.

A Bill for Preservation of the Spawn of Fish, and to prevent Abuses in Fishing in fresh Rivers, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be committed to Mr. Street, Colonel Gray, Mr. Westphaling, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Wm. Doyley, Sir Tho. Lee, Sir John Robinson, Mr. Chetwyn, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Pepis, Mr. Edw. Seymour, Sir Rich. Braham, Sir Sol. Swale, Sir Allan Broderick, Mr. Dowdswell, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Sir Geo. Probert, Sir John Coriton, Sir Edm. Pooley, Mr. John Vaughan, Mr. Jay, Colonel Phillips, Mr. Pleydall, Mr. Yorke, Mr. Newport, Sir Chichester Wray, Mr. Crouch, Sir Tho. Franklyn, Mr. Sands, and all the Members of this House that serve for the several Counties of Gloucester, Worcester, Hereford, Salop, Somerset, and Cornwall: And they are to meet on Thursday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And they are to peruse all the Statutes that are already made, concerning Fishing, and the Preservation of Fish, in fresh Rivers: And to take care of his Majesty's Interest; and for the Preservation of the Fishing in the Rivers of Tweed and Trent: And to summon and hear all Parties concerned: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Loyal Officers.

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed to take an Account from the Persons to whom the Letters were sent, touching the Money to be collected for the indigent loyal Officers; and to examine what hath been already paid; and what rests unpaid of that Money; and by whose default the same is not paid in, that the Persons in Fault may be punished; and an effectual Course taken for the speedy Bringing in of the said Money, into the Hands of Sir John Bennet, appointed Treasurer for the Receiving and Distributing of the said Monies: And that it be referred to Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir John Bennet, Sir John Birkinhead, Sir Tho. Clifford, Colonel Kirkby, Mr. Crouch, Lord Fanshaw, Colonel Fra. Windham, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Roger Bradshaigh, Sir Courtney Poole, Sir John Goodrick, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Tho. Meres, Sir Sol. Swale, Colonel Whitley, Mr. Edw. Seymour, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Edm. Pooley; or any Four of them: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

St. James' Parish.

A Bill to make the Bailiwick of St. James parochial, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Friday next.

Davie's Estate.

Ordered, That the Bill for settling of Three Parts (the Whole into Eleven Parts to be divided) of several Manors, Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, upon Dame Susan Davie, and her Heirs, be read the First time on Thursday next.

Bristoll, &c. Rivers.

Ordered, That the Bill for making Rivers navigable from Bristoll to London, be read the First time on Thursday next.

Ways and Means.

And then the House resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Raising of the Five-and-twenty hundred thousand Pounds, in a regulated subsidiary Way; reducing the same to a Certainty in all Counties, so as no Person, for his real or personal Estate, be exempted.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Job Charlton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.

Sir Job Charlton reports, from the Committee, That the Committee had made some Progress in the Consideration of the Manner of Levying the Five-and-twenty hundred thousand Pounds Supply for his Majesty: And desired, that the House would again resolve itself into a Committee on Thursday Morning next, at Nine of the Clock, to proceed in the further Debate thereof.

Resolved, &c. That the House will resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, on Thursday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, to proceed in the further Consideration of the raising the Five-and-twenty hundred thousand Pounds.

Ordered, That the Officers of the Exchequer do bring into this House the Rolls of the last Subsidies, on Thursday Morning next, at Nine of the Clock, to be perused by the Members of this House.

And then the House adjourned till Thursday Morning next, Eight of the Clock.
