Prayers.

Door Shut.

RESOLVED, That the Door be shut till Twelve a Clock.

Letters, &c. read.

Sir Henry Vane jun. reports, from the Council of State, several Papers and Letters of Importance taken amongst the Papers in the Hampers of the Earl of Darby: Which were this Day read:

And also a Letter from the Lord General Cromwell of the * Day of *, from *; with two Letters intercepted inclosed from Sir Wm. Widderington: Which were this Day read.

His Majesty's Declaration.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That whatsoever Person or Persons have, or shall have, in their Custody, any of the printed Papers, intituled, His Majesty's Declaration to all his loving Subjects of the Kingdom of England, and Dominion of Wales, be injoined forthwith to bring the same in to the Council of State, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, or the next Justice of Peace; who are to cause the same to be burnt by the Hand of the common Hangman: And that all such Persons who have, or shall have, any of the said Papers, and shall disperse or publish the same, or shall not bring in the same, as aforesaid, shall be proceeded against according to the Laws in such case provided.

Resolved, That this Vote be forthwith printed and published.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State to take Care for finding out the Printers and Publishers of the printed Paper, intituled, His Majesty's Declaration to all his loving Subjects of the Kingdom of England, and Dominion of Wales; and proceeding against them according to Law.

Sir Wm. Masham reports, from the Council of State, a Letter from Chipping Norton of the 31st of August 1651, from the Committee of the County of Essex: Which was this Day read.

And also a Letter from the Commissioners of Somersetshire, from Glaston, of the 29th of August 1651: Which was this Day read.

Militia.

Major Lister reports, an Act enabling the Commissioners of the respective Militias within this Commonwealth to raise Money for the Maintenance of the Forces by them respectively raised for the present Service: Which was this Day read the first and second Time.

And the Question being put, That this Bill be committed;

It passed in the Negative.

And the said Bill, upon the Question, was ordered to be ingrossed.

Continuing Assessment.

An Act for further continuing of the Assessment of 120,000£. a Month, for Three Months, from the 29th of September 1651, was this Day read the third Time; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be forthwith printed and published.

Commissioners of Assessments.

Resolved, That Richard Lucy, Thomas Marell, and Thomas Legge, be added to the Commissioners for Assessment for the Army, for the Isle of Wight: And they are hereby impowered and authorized to act as Commissioners, accordingly.

Resolved, That Anthony Luther and Henry Wolleston, Esquires, be added to the Commissioners for the monthly Assessment for the Army, for the County of Essex: And they are hereby impowered and authorized to act as Commissioners accordingly.

Resolved, That Thomas Darling, John Clendon, and George Greene, be added to the Commissioners for the Assessment for the Army, for the City of Westminster, and Liberties thereof: And they are hereby impowered and authorized to act as Commissioners, accordingly.

Resolved, That Stephen Coe be added to the Commissioners for the Assessment of the Army, in the County of Nottingham: And that he is impowered and authorized to act, accordingly.

Resolved, That Edward Exton, Esq; be added to the Commissioners for the Assessment of the Army, in the Town and County of Southampton: And he is impowered and authorized to act as a Commissioner, accordingly.
