Tuesday, the 30th of March, 1652.

Prayers.

Grant to Frost.

THE Lord Commissioner Lysle did report, from the Council of State, the Condition of Mr. Frost's Family.

Resolved, That the Sum of One Thousand Pounds be allotted to the Wife and Children of Mr. Gualter Frost, deceased.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take care, and give Order, for the Payment of the said Thousand Pounds, and direct how the same shall be distributed; and to take Order for the Distribution thereof accordingly.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider of the Estate of Mr. Gualter Frost, deceased, and the Condition of his Family; and present the same to the Parliament.

Clerk to Council.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to elect and chuse such Clerk or Clerks for the Service of the Council, in the Employments which Mr. Frost had.

Uniting of Scotland.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to cause the printed Copies of the Declaration of the Parliament to be sent to the Commissioners of Parliament now in Scotland: And that a Letter be sent to acquaint them with the Pleasure of the House, touching their Care for putting the said Declaration in Execution.

Resolved, That, when the Commissioners of Parliament, for ordering and managing the Affairs of Scotland, shall see, that, by their Directions, the Matter of this Declaration is put in a way of Execution, and that they have caused the Courts of Judicature to be set up there; that then the Lord Chief Justice St. John, Major Salwey, and Alderman Titchburne, be required to return from Scotland; and to leave such Directions at their coming away, as they shall see Cause, upon the Place, for carrying on the Publick Service, in Pursuance of their Instructions.

Resolved, That a Letter be written to the Commissioners, to the Purpose of these Votes: And that the Lord Commissioner Whitelock do prepare a Letter, and Mr. Speaker sign the same.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That Mr. Corbett do report the Act in his Hands, for compelling Purchasers of the late Deans and Chapters Lands, to pay in their Second Moieties of their Purchase-Monies on Thursday Morning next.

Obstruction to Sale of King's Lands, &c.

An Act for transferring the Powers and Authorities, settled in the several Committees for removing of Obstructions in the Sale of the late King's Lands, Bishops Lands, Dean and Chapters Lands, Fee-farm Rents, and of Lands forfeited for Treason, into other Persons, was this Day read the First and Second time.

The Question being put, That the Persons to be named in this Bill be the Commissioners for compounding;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So it passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That the Persons to be named in this Bill shall not exceed the Number of Seven.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Major General Harrison, Colonel Rich, Lord General, Sir Arthure Hesilrige, Mr. Bond, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Westrow, Mr. Holland, Mr. Leman, Mr. Love, Mr. Dove, Mr. Carew, Sir Peter Wentworth, Colonel Morley, Colonel Bennett, Mr. Cawley, Colonel Lister, Mr. Nevill, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Darley, Colonel Fielder, Mr. Say, Colonel Wauton, Colonel Bossevile, Mr. Hodges, Sir Henry Vane, Colonel Sidney, Colonel Marten. Mr. Stephens, Alderman Allein, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Ralegh, Mr. Brewster, or any Five of them; and that they meet this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And Colonel Fielder, and Mr. John Corbett are to take care of it; and to bring in the same on Thursday Morning, the First Business; with Power to this Committee to bring in the Names of Persons fit to be intrusted in this Service, according to the former Vote.

Settling the Government.

Ordered, That the Amendments to the Act for settling the Government of Westminster be reported on Wednesday come Sevennight.
