General Overton.

ORDERED, That the Report touching Major-General Overton be made on Tuesday Morning next, the first Business; nothing to intervene.

Windsor poor Knights.

Ordered, That the Report touching the poor Knights of Windsor be read on Tuesday Morning next.

Gardiner's Petition

Ordered, That the Petition of Maurice Gardiner, of London, Merchant, be read on Tuesday Morning next.

Sequestering Estates.

Mr. Sey reports, Amendments to the Bill for Sequestrations: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Resolved, That the Time for Sequestering of Persons for abetting, aiding, contributing, or assisting of Charles Stuart, be from 1648.

Ordered, That Mr. Say, Mr. Nevill, Major Salwey, and Colonel White, or any Two of them, do withdraw; and pen a Clause to that Purpose, upon the Debate of the House, to be inserted into the Bill for Sequestrations.

Resolved, That Four of the Commissioners be a Quorum in this Bill.

Resolved, That the Title of this Bill be, An Act for Sequestration.

Embassy to Sweden, &c.

The House, according to former Order, resumed the Debate upon the Letter from General Mountague, and the rest of the Plenipotentiaries of this Commonwealth, Yesterday adjourned.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to give such Orders and Directions to the Plenipotentiaries of this Commonwealth, at the Sound, whereby they may pursue the Agreement made between this Commonwealth, France, and the States-General of the United Provinces, concerning those Affairs, in case either One or Both the Northern Kings do refuse.

Sequestering Estates.

Mr. Nevill reports from the Committee ordered to withdraw, A Clause to be inserted into the Bill for Sequestrations: Which was twice read.

Resolved, That the Word "pretended" be inserted, in the Second Line, next after the Words "promoted the."

Resolved, That these Words, "this Commonwealth," be inserted in the Third Line, next after the Words "Magistrate of."

Resolved, That the Word "heretofore" be inserted, next after the Word "personal," in the last Line but Two in this Clause.

And the said Clause, so amended, was, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Ordered, That this Bill, so amended, be ingrossed.

Sir A. Cooper's Case.

Mr. Scot reports, from the Council of State, A Letter from James Dewy, of the One-and-twentieth of August 1659; with the Examination of John Nicholas, taken the One-and-twentieth of August 1659, concerning Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper: Which were read.

Resolved, That this House doth approve of what Major James Dewy hath done in this Business, in taking up Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper.

Ordered, That this Report be referred to the Council of State, to examine the Business; state Matter of Fact; and present their Opinion therein to this House.

Sir G. Booth.

Sir Henry Vane gave an Account to this House, of his and Sir Arthur Hesilrig's Proceedings, according to the Order of this House, in repairing to the Tower to Sir George Booth; and of their Proceedings touching his Examination.

Ordered, That Sir Henry Vane and Sir Arthur Hesilrig do, from time to time, as they shall see Cause, repair to the Tower; and examine Sir George Booth; and report his Examination to this House.
