Prayers.

Petition from London.

THE House being informed, That some Gentlemen of good Affections to the Commonwealth did attend without, at the Door, to deliver a Petition to this House;

Ordered, That Mr. Knightley, Colonel Gorge, and Sir Walter Earle, do go out, and acquaint the Petitioners, That the House at present are, by Order, engaged in a Debate of very great Weight and Concernment: That they cannot at the present call them in, and receive and read their Petition; but that, as soon as the Debate the House is now engaged in shall be over, they shall be ready to hear them, and read their Petition.

Mr. Knightley, Colonel Gorge, and Sir Walter Earle, went out to the Petitioners; and acquainted them with the Pleasure of the House, accordingly.

Recognizing Protector's Title.

According to the Order made Yesterday, the House resumed, and proceeded in, the Debate upon the Bill, intituled, An Act of Recognition of his Highness' Right and Title to be Protector and Chief-Magistrate of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland, and the Dominions and Territories thereunto belonging.

Resolved, &c. That this Debate be adjourned till Tomorrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock; and be then proceeded in; and that no other Business do then intervene.
