Wednesday, the 19th October, 1653.

Chancery Court.

COLONEL Blount reports from the Committee for the Law, A Bill, intituled, An Act for taking away the English Court, or Court of Equity, in Chancery; and constituting Commissioners to hear and determine the Causes now depending, or that shall be brought them, before the Day of: Which was read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the same Committee: And Colonel Bennett, and Colonel Jones are added to that Committee, for this Purpose.

Payments out of Revenue.

Ordered, That there be a Stay of Payment of any Money out of the Revenue, for Six Days, now next coming, as formerly: And the Receiver-General of the said Revenue is to take Notice hereof.

Army Accompts.

An Act impowering the Committee for the Army to state and determine the Accounts of all Officers and Soldiers, and others employed by them, for Monies by them received, from the 5th of October 1647, until the 25th of July 1653, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, That, instead of the "5th of October," these Words be inserted, "the 26th of March."

And the Bill, so amended, being put to the Question, passed; and ordered to be printed and published.

Thieves and Highwaymen.

Resolved, That Colonel Blount do bring in the Bill against Highwaymen, To-morrow Morning.

Redeeming Captives, &c.

Alderman Titchborne reports from the Council of State, A Bill for the Continuance of a former Act for Redemption of Captives, and all the Powers therein, for And also, for the Transporting, Maintaining, and Educating in the true Protestant Religion, Irish Children: . . . was this Day read the First time, and laid aside.

Ordered, That Alderman Titchborne do prepare a new Bill, containing the Substance of the former Act, with these Provisoes.
