ORDERED, That the Bill touching the Fens be reported on Wednesday next.

Mr. Clement, a Member.

Ordered, That the Report touching Mr. Clement, a Member of Parliament, be made on Tuesday Morning next, after the Act of Indemnity.

Embassy from Sweden.

The House being informed, That the publick Minister from the Queen of Sweden was come to the Court of Wards;

Ordered, That Sir Henry Mildmay, Mr. Bond, Lord Commissioner Whitelock, Mr. Lenthall, Mr. Robinson, Sir Arthure Hesilrig, Lord Grey, Major General Skippon, Mr. Raleygh, Colonel Marten, Mr. Strickland, be a Committee appointed to give Audience to the publick Minister from the Queen of Sweden.

Petition from Cheltenham, &c.

The humble Petition and Cries of many Land-Owners and Labourers of Cheltenham, Wynchcomb, and the adjacent Parishes in the County of Gloucester, was this Day read.

Planting Tobacco.

Resolved, That a Declaration be brought in To-morrow Morning, for dispensing with the Forfeiture of the Act, intituled, An Act prohibiting the Planting of Tobacco in England, for all Tobacco that was planted within this Commonwealth, before the 6th of May 1652, for this Year only: And that Colonel Marten do bring in the same.

Petition from Hertford.

The humble Petition of the Well-affected of the County of Hertford was this Day read.

Propagating the Gospel.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to receive Proposals for the better Propogating of the Gospel, do meet this Afternoon in the Speaker's Chamber; and so de die in diem.

Fines on Estates.

Mr. Garland reports Amendments to the Act for ascertaining arbitrary Fines upon Descent and Alienations of Copyholds of Inheritance: Which were twice read.

The Question being propounded, To agree with the Committee, that the Value be not above Two full Years Value;

And the Question being put, That That Question be now put;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being propounded, That the Value upon Descent be not exceeding a full Year's and a half's Value;

And the Question being put, That That Question be now put;

The House was divided.
The Noes went forth.

So it pased with the Negative.

The Question being propounded, That the Value be not above One full Year's Value;

And the Question being put, That That Question be now put;

The House was divided.
The Noes went forth.

So it passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put; It was

Resolved by the Parliament, That the Value be not above One full Year's Value.

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee in the last Clause in the Amendments;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That the House doth agree with the Committee in the Time.

Resolved, That the said Bill be ingrossed.

Embassy from Sweden.

The Lord Commissioner Whitelock reports from the Committee appointed to give Audience to the Publick Minister from the Queen of Sweden, Letters of Credence, from Christina Queen of Sweden, to the Noble Haraldus Appleboom; dated at Stockholmensis, the 20th of March, Anno 1652; and the Speech of the said Harald Appleboom; Which were this Day read in Latin, and a Translate thereof in English.

Ordered, That the said Letters of Credence, and Papers, be referred to the Council of State; with Power to hear what the said Publick Minister from the Queen of Sweden shall offer: and to do further therein what they shall think fit.
