Prayers.

Leominster Minister.

ORDERED, That Mr. Frayser, now settled to officiate in the Cathedral Church of the City of Hereford, be desired, for the present, to remove, and preach and officiate in the Church of Leominster, until further Order and Provision for Maintenance of a Preaching Minister in that Place: And that the Salary now settled and appointed to the said Mr. Fraiser, for his Pains and Service in the Church at Hereford, be continued, and paid unto the said Mr. Fraiser: And that the Acquittance of the said Mr. Fraiser, or his Assignee, shall be a sufficient Warrant and Discharge to the Committees, Treasurers, Sequestrators, or other Persons authorized by former Order or Ordinance to pay the same.

Tythes.

An Ordinance for the true Payment of Tythes, and other Duties, and for Continuance of an Ordinance of the Ninth of August 1647, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Scotch Affairs.

A Letter from the Committee of Estates in Scotland, from Edinburgh, of 17 Octobris 1648, signed, "In the Name, and by the Warrant of the Committee of Estates."

"Your most assured Friends and humble Servants,"

"Loudoun Cancellarius."

And was directed

"For the honourable William Lenthall Esquire, Speaker of the House of Commons; to be communicated to both Houses of Parliament."

There was inclosed a Letter of Credence of Sir John Cheistey, or Kerswell, dated at Edinburgh, 17 Octobris 1648, signed, "In the Name, and by the Warrant, of the Committee of Estates,"

"Loudoun Cancellarius."

A Letter from the Commissioners of the national Assembly of the Kirk of Scotland, from Edinburgh, of 11 Octobris 1648, subscribed, "In the Name of the Commission of the General Assembly of the Kirk of Scotland, by "Your humble Servant in the Lord,"

"Mr. Robert Douglas, Moderator."

Resolved, &c. That the Letter from the Committee of Estates in Scotland be communicated to the House of Peers: And they desired to return the Originals.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the Committee at Derby House, to hear and receive what Sir John Cheislie has to deliver from the Committee of Estates in Scotland; and to report the same to the Houses.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Assembly of Divines.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Blaire be admitted to the Assembly of Divines.

Treaty with the King.

According to former Order, the House took into Consideration the Commissioners Paper, expressing the Defects of his Majesty's former Answer to the Propositions concerning the Church, and the King's further and final Answer to the said Proposition: The which were read.

Resolved, &c. That his Majesty's Answer to that Part of the Proposition, that concerns a Bill, and Ordinances, for abolishing of Bishops, is not satisfactory.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to a Committee, to present to the House To-morrow Morning, by way of an Instruction to the Commissioners in the Isle of Wight, the Particulars of this Dissatisfaction; viz. unto Mr. Fiennes, Colonel Birch, Sir Wm. Lewes, Mr. Swynfen, Mr. Annesley, Mr. Seldon, Sir John Evelyn of Wiltshire, Mr. Tate, Mr. Ashhurst, Mr. Bond, Mr. Dodderidge; or any Three of them: Who are to meet this Afternoon, and to bring it in To-morrow Morning. The more particular Care of it is referred to Mr. Swynfen.

Resolved, &c. That the House do proceed upon the further Debate of this Business To-morrow Morning, the first Business; nothing to intervene.

Army Arrears.

Ordered, That the House be resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Ordinance for the Arrears of the Soldiery, on Tuesday Morning next: And that then Mr. Speaker forbear to take the Chair.

Message to Lords.

Sir Walter Erle carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, Doctor Bastwick's Order for Five hundred Pounds, with Interest, to be paid to him out of Goldsmiths Hall: The Vote, That the Committee at Derby House, to hear what Sir John Chieslie has to deliver from the Committee of Estates in Scottland: The Vote, That Mr. Blaire be admitted to the Assembly of Divines.
