Prayers.

Representation and Elections.

THE House, according to former Order, was this Day resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Heads of a Bill for an equal Representative, and regulating the Elections.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Say took the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Say reports from the Grand Committee, That the said Committee hath adjourned till This-day-sevennight; and pray the Leave of the House, that they may then fit.

Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Grand Committee, on This-day-sevennight, upon the Heads of a Bill for an equal Representative, and regulating Elections: And that Mr. Speaker do then forbear to take the Chair.

Trade.

Mr. Challoner reports from the Committee, Amendments to the Act for Regulating of Trade: Which were twice read.

The Question being propounded, That Peter Keckwich be one of the Commissioners in this Act;

The Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being propounded, That John Sadler be one of the Commissioners in this Act;

And The Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That John Ashe Esquire be one of the Commissioners in this Act.

Resolved, That Sir Cheney Culpepper Knight be one of the Commissioners in this Act.

Resolved, The Time of Continuance of the Powers and Instructions in this Act be, until the Twenty-ninth of September 1651.

And the Amendments, being put to the Question, were assented unto.

And the Bill, so amended, upon the Question, was ordered to be ingrossed.

Excise Appointment.

Resolved, That Henry Robinson Esquire be appointed Secretary to the Commissioners of Excise.

Resolved, That Colonel Harrison do give Notice to the Commissioners of Excise of the Vote of the Parliament, whereby Henry Robinson Esquire is appointed to be Secretary to the Commissioners of Excise.
