Seals.

MR. Love reports the Alterations of several Seals; and an Act for altering the former Seal for the Statutes.

Form of Dedimus.

He also reports the Form of a Dedimus, to take the Sheriffs Oaths: Which was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

Declaration of Parliament.

Ordered, That all the Judges, in their respective Circuits, be required to publish the Declaration of the Parliament, already printed, intituled, * * * *.

Mr. Whitlock, Commissary General Ireton, Mr. Prideaux, Serjeant Thorpe, Mr. Love, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Martyn, Sir Arthur Heslerigg, Sir William Armyn, Mr. Scott, Mr. Hill, Mr. Challener, Mr. Say, Sir Henry Vane junior, Major General Skippon, Colonel Purefoy, or any Four of them, are to prepare a Declaration of the Grounds and Reasons of the Parliament's late Proceedings, and the Benefit redounding to the People of this Nation thereby. And the more special Care hereof is referred to Mr. Prydeaux, Mr. Whitlock, Mr. Love, and Mr. Challener; to bring it in on Monday Morning: And the Committee are to meet this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber, to agree upon Heads of the said Declaration: And the same Committee are to prepare Instructions for the Judges.

Proceedings in King's Tryal.

Ordered, That the Clerk of the High Court of Justice be required to bring unto this House, To-morrow Morning, the Proceedings of the said High Court in the Tryal of the late King.

Newcastle, &c. Garisons.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to consider of all sorts of Provisions to be made for the Supply of the Stores for the Garisons of Newcastle, Tynmouth, Barwick, Carlisle, and the Holy Island; and of all other Things necessary for the Preservation of those Garisons; and to assign Pay for the Forces that are to be continued for the Safety of the Four Northern Counties; and to settle an Establishment for those Forces and Garisons; and also to consider, What Lands and Revenues have formerly belonged to the said Garisons, or any of them; and what is fit to be done thereupon.

Letter to be read.

Ordered, That the Letter concerning the Kentish Forces be read To-morrow Morning.

Navy Appointments.

Sir Henry Mildmay reports from the Committee of the Navy, the Report of the Committee of Merchants; the Names of Persons whom they hold fit and able to be employed as Commissioners for the Service of the Navy; John Holland, Surveyor; Thomas Smith, Mr. Peter Pett, Colonel William Willoughby, Commissioners; and that they desire, Colonel Willoughby may personally attend at Portsmouth, and, in Recompence, have the Fee of a Commissioner at large; and Captain Twedy to be a Commissioner.

Resolved, &c. That John Holland be Surveyor of the Navy, in the place of Captain Batton; and one of the Commissioners for the Service of the Navy.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Thomas Smith be one of the Commissioners.

Resolved, That Mr. Peter Pett be continued one of the Commissioners.

Resolved, That William Willougby be continued one of the Commissioners.

The Question being put, That Captain Tweedy shall be continued one of the Commissioners for the Service of the Navy:

It passed with the Negative.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Merchants for regulating the Officers of the Navy and Customs, to consider of a fit Person to be one of the Commissioners for the Service of the Navy, in the place of Captain Tweedy.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Willoughby do personally attend at Portsmouth, and be Master Attendant.

Ordered, That it be re-committed to the Committee of the Navy, to present to the House, What the particular Salaries were of the Surveyors and Commissioners for the Service of the Navy; and what the Duties are of these Persons recommended by them, for which the said Salaries are to be allowed; and report it speedily to the House.
