PRAYERS.
Navy, &c.
THE humble Petition of the Merchant Adventurers of the Cities of Bristoll, Exon, Towns of Barnstaple, and other the Western Parts, was this Day read.
A Letter from the Lord Admiral, from aboard the St. George, in the Downes, 9 Decembris 1648, was this Day read; with a Paper therein inclosed.
Ordered, That the Committee of the Navy do sit this Afternoon: And that the said Petition of the Merchant Adventurers of the Cities of Bristoll and Exon, &c. be referred to the said Committee: And that the Letter of the Lord Admiral, and the Paper therein inclosed, be also referred to the said Committee: And that Mr. Sallwey and Mr. Corbett take special Care of this Business.
The said Committee are likewise to consider of Captain Crowther; and report the Business to the House forthwith.
Ordered, That Mr. Strickland's Letter, of 8 Novembris 1648, be likewise referred to the Committee of the Navy, to discharge the Ship called the Heart, coming from St. Thome, bound for Amsterdam, driven in upon the Coast in Wales, and staid by Authority of Parliament, if she be clear.
Dr. Dorislaus.
Ordered, That Two hundred Pounds for Dr. Dorislaus be especially referred to the Committee of the Navy, to make Payment thereof.
Army Proposals.
According to former Order, the House did this Day proceed in reading the Proposals and Desires of his Excellency the Lord Fairefax, and the General Council of Officers, of December the Sixth 1648: Which were this Day read the Second time.
Army.
Ordered, That the Committee of Northampton do continue the Two Troops of Horse of Major Butler and Captain Stirke for one Month.
Ordered, That a Letter be sent to the Committee of Northampton, to be signed by Mr. Speaker, to acquaint them with the Pleasure of the House therein.
Transporting Horses.
Ordered, That Mr. Ashe have Leave to transport Two Horses to Antwerp,
Resolved, &c. * * * * (fn. 1).
Army Proposals.
Ordered, That the Debate upon the Proposals of the Army be adjourned until To-morrow Morning, the first Business; nothing to intervene.
