Prayers.
Grant to Le Hunt.
ORDERED, That the Sum of Fifty Pounds, over and above the Sum of Fifty Pounds, formerly given to Captain Richard le Hunt, be paid unto him, to buy him a Horse: And that the Council of State be authorized and required to cause the same to be paid unto him accordingly.
Building Ships.
Ordered, That the Bill for raising Monies to build Ships, be read on Tuesday Morning next.
Delinquents Estates.
Ordered, That the Quorum of the Committee to whom the Bill for Sale of Delinquents Estates is referred, be Five of the said Committee: And any Five of the said Committee are required and impowered to fit and act accordingly.
Publick Treasury.
The Form of the Commission, impowering Commissioners to manage the publick Treasury of this Commonwealth, was this Day read the Second time.
The House, this Day (according to former Order) resumed the Debate upon the Bill, for bringing in to one General Treasury all the Monies and Revenues belonging to the Commonwealth.
And the said Bill, and Form of the Commission, were, upon the Question, committed unto Sir Henry Vane, Mr. Bond, Sir Henry Mildmay, Sir Arthur Hesilrige, Sir Wm. Armyn, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Love, Mr. Allen, Mr. Gold, Sir Thomas Wrath, Colonel Ven, Mr. Marten, Colonel Ludlow, Mr. Scott, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Leman, Sir John Trevor, Mr. Holland, the Lord Grey, Mr. James Challener, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Lister, Mr. Garland, Sir John Hippisley, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Thomas Challener, Colonel Downes, Mr. Smith, Earl of Salisbury, Lord Howard, Mr. Goodwin, or any Five of them: And all that come, to have Voices: And they are to meet in the Exchequer Chamber, To-morrow, at Two of Clock in the Afternoon, and so de die in diem: With Power to send for Persons, Records, Paper, or any thing else that may conduce to the Business.
Mr. Love and Colonel Downes are particularly to take care hereof.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Revenue, to examine and consider what Rent was reserved upon the Grant to Sir Paul Pinder of the Alum Works; and what Arrears of the said Rent were due at the Time when the Vote was made for Liberty to all Persons to make Alum; and what is due unto the State, for the Stock or Materials in those Works, and for the Advantage by the Employment of the same since; and to consider of the whole Matter, and present the State thereof to the House.
Impropriations.
Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to state the Matter of Fact, touching the Manors, and Demesnes of such Manors, belonging to any Impropriation, which did formerly belong to Deans and Chapters; and to peruse the former Acts; and whether any of the said Manors and Lands be left unengaged by the former Acts, and what; and present the same to the House: Viz. unto Colonel Jones, Sir Henry Vane, Mr. Holland, Mr. Bond, Sir Arthur Hesilrig, Mr. Leman, Mr. Salwey, Colonel Sidney, Lord Lisle, Mr. Garland, Mr. Dove, Colonel Downes, Alderman Allen, Sir James Harrington, Colonel Thomson; or any Three of them: And they are to meet, in the Exchequer Chamber, To-morrow in the Afternoon: And Colonel Jones is to take care of it.
Issues of Money.
Sir Henry Vane junior reports from the Council of State, That Fifty thousand Pounds, of the next Two hundred thousand Pounds, charged upon the Excise, be disposed of by the Council of State, for the Setting out of the Train of Artillery, and other Necessaries for the Marching Army, and for other Exigents of the Commonwealth.
Resolved, That, for the Setting out of the Train of Artillery, and other Necessaries for the Marching Army, and for other Exigencies of the Commonwealth, there shall be Fifty thousand Pounds, of the Two hundred thousand Pounds in the Excise, disposed of by the Council of State.
Resolved, That the One hundred and Fifty thousand Pounds, Residue of the said Two hundred thousand Pounds, shall be paid; Fifty thousand Pounds to the Use of the Navy, and One hundred thousand Pounds for the Use of the Armies in England and Ireland; in such Order and Manner as the Council of State shall direct, as the Urgencies of either of them shall require.
Concealments.
Ordered, That the Information now given to the House, of Monies concealed belonging to the State, be referred to the Council of State: Who are impowered to give unto such Persons as shall make the said Discoveries, for the Benefit of the State, an Allowance or Recompence, not exceeding the Fifth Part of such Monies as they shall so discover: And that they do examine the Business, and proceed therein as they shall think fit.
Transporting Coin.
Ordered, That the Act prohibiting the Transportation of Coin and Bullion be read the Second time, on Tuesday Morning next, the first Business; nothing to intervene.
