Die Jovis, 5 Julii, 1649.

Prayers.

Invalid Soldiers.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the maimed Soldiers are hereby impowered and required to take the Accompts of Mr. Pocock, and other the Treasurers for the maimed Soldiers, upon Oath, as well in relation to the maimed Soldiers, as other their Transactions, according to any Order or Ordinance of Parliament; and to state the said Accompts; and report the same to the House.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to consider how the Nine thousand Pounds, in ready Money, come in, and now deposited in Goldsmiths Hall, of the Forty-two thousand Pounds, out of the Sequestrations at Guildhall, London, upon the Ordinance of the Nineteenth of June 1648, to be paid to the Three Lists; viz. Mr. Wilcox's, Mr. Potter's, and Colonel Saunderson's, may be best distributed; and report the same to the House; and to forbear to distribute the said Nine thousand Pounds, or any Part thereof, in the mean time.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to consider of the Case of Mr. Pocock; and present their Opinions to the House, what is fit to be done for his Relief: And Alderman Penington is to make Report thereof upon Friday next.

Articles.

Ordered, That Mr. Steele, Recorder of London, be appointed to attend the Commissioners for Articles; and to be of Counsel with the Commonwealth therein.

Ordered, That Mr. Hurst, of the Inner Temple, be appointed to be an Assistant to the Recorder of London, as of Counsel for the Commonwealth in that Business.

Ordered, That the Attorney General be required to attend the Business touching Articles before the Commissioners, on the Behalf of the Commonwealth.

Ordered, That the Commissioners in the Act touching Articles do sit in the Forenoons.

Garisons.

Mr. Pury reports from the Committee of the Army, an humble Offer of an Establishment for the several Garisons in England and Wales, and for the Town of Barwick; all other Salaries and Allowances, payable either out of the Committee of the Revenue, or any other Treasury whatsoever, now to cease.

Which was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Report be committed to the Committee of the Army; to consider thereof; and to present their Opinions to this House: And that they make their Report of it on Saturday next: And that all the Members that come to that Committee have Voices, as to that Particular.

Act of Oblivion.

A general Pardon, and an Act of Oblivion, was this Day read the First and Second time; and upon the Question, committed to Colonel Marten, Mr. Weaver, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Mr. Salwey, Lord Mounson, Dr. Palmer, Colonel Purefoy, Colonel Hutchinson, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Hodges, Colonel Jones, Sir Wm. Brereton, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Dove, Lord Commissioner Whitelock, Colonel Temple, Mr. Allen, Mr. Hallowes, Colonel Venne, Mr. Say, Alderman Pennyngton, Mr. * Challoner, Mr. Millington: And all that come are to have Voices: And this Committee is to meet, Tomorrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

And the special Care of it is commended to Mr. Attorney, Mr. Say, and Mr. Garland.

Wolstenholme's Petition.

The humble Petition of Sir John Wolstenholme Knight, was this Day read.

Invalid Soldiers, &c.

Ordered, That the Act touching the maimed Soldiers, Widows and Orphans, be brought in on Tuesday next.
