Prayers.

A. Marvyn.

ORDERED, That the Business concerning Mr. Awdley Marvyn be referred to the Examination of the General; to do what he shall think fit therein: And that the Serjeant at Arms do deliver the said Awdley Marvyn up to the General, to that Purpose.

Letter read.

A Letter from Mr. Strickland, from the Hagh, Januarii 18/28 1649, was this Day read.

Embassy from Holland.

Mr. Speaker informed the House, That Addresses have been made to him, by some Agents from the Ambassadors of the States General of Holland; who certified him, That Ambassadors from the States in Holland were at Greenwich, and desired him to acquaint this House therewith.

Ordered, That the Master of the Ceremonies be appointed to wait on the Ambassadors from the States General of Holland, at Greenwich; and to bring them up to the City of London, with all civil Respects.

Ordered, That the Committee of the Revenue do forthwith pay to the Master of the Ceremonies such Monies, as shall be requisite to defray his Charge, and the Hire of Coaches for this Service.

Ordered, That Mr. Walter Strickland shall have Allowance of Six hundred Pounds per Annum charged upon the Revenue, in lieu of the Four hundred Pounds per Annum formerly ordered to him: And that the Committee of Revenue do take special Care, that the Arrears now due to the said Mr. Strickland, for the Time past, be forthwith paid to the said Mr. Strickland, or his Assigns; and that the said Allowance of Six hundred Pounds per Annum be duly paid, for the future, by Quarterly Payments.

Ordered, That a Letter, to be signed by Mr. Speaker, be sent to Mr. Strickland, giving him the hearty Thanks of the House, for his faithful and extraordinary Service for the State: And Mr. Martyn is to prepare the Letter.

Information against a Member.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Frye, a Member of this House, do withdraw, during the Debate touching the Information given against him.

Ordered, That Mr. Frye do continue suspended from sitting in this House, and executing of his Duty here as a Member, till he shall give better Satisfaction to this House.

Ordered, That Mr. Frye do forbear to sit in Execution of the Commission for Tryal of the King; until he shall give better Satisfaction to this House.

Courts of Justice.

Mr. Lysle reports an Act for settling Proceedings in Courts of Justice: Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be ingrossed.

New Great Seal.

Ordered, That Thomas Symonds be hereby authorized to engrave a Seal, according to the Form formerly directed.

Ordered, That Thomas Symonds shall have the Sum of Two hundred Pounds for graving the said Great Seal, and for the Materials thereof.

Nottingham Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of the well-affected People in Nottinghamshire, and in the Town of Nottingham, be read, the first Business, To-morrow Morning.

Letters from Scotland.

Ordered, That the Committee for considering the Letters and Papers of the Scotts Commissioners do examine, Whether the same are printed; and whether the same were done by the Direction of the Scotts Commissioners, or by whom; and report it to this House.
