Prayers.

Deputy Registers in Chancery.

THE humble Petition of Roland Wilson Gentleman, was this Day read.

Ordered, That Mr. Roland Wilson and Mr. Ralph Hall be constituted and appointed Deputy Registers in the Court of Chancery, unless it shall appear to the Commissioners of the Great Seal, that the said Gentlemen are not fitting and able for the Execution of the said Places.

Arrears of Assessments.

Ordered, That the several Members of this House, that are employed in the several Counties for bringing in the Six Months Assessments of Sixty thousand Pounds per mensem, be likewise required to employ their best Endeavours for the speedy levying and bringing in the Arrears of the Loans of the Scotts Army, and the Arrears of the Assessments for the Scotts Army, according to the Letters to be written by the Speaker to that Purpose.

Comm rs to Scotland.

Ordered, That Mr. Ashhurst, Mr. Robert Goodwyn, and Colonel Birch, Three of the Commissioners appointed to be employed into the Kingdom of Scotland, be required to use all Diligence, and to be there before the Eighth of February next.

Resolved, &c. That the Quorum of the Commissioners to be employed into Scotland shall be Two; and the Instructions so prepared.

Ordered, That Mr. Marshall and Mr. Caryll be desired and appointed to go with the Commissioners, employed from both Houses, into the Kingdom of Scotland.

Message to Lords.

Mr. Wheeler carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Instructions for the Commissioners appointed to go into Scotland: The Resolutions concerning the Payment of the Monies to our Brethren of Scotland: The Order for Mr. Marshall and Mr. Caryll to go with the Commissioners into Scotland: And is appointed to acquaint them with the Necessity of having some of the Commissioners there before the Eighth of February next; and that this House had appointed some of their Commissioners to be there by that time.

Sheriffs.

Ordered, That, on Monday Morning next, positively, a Conference be desired with the Lords, upon the Business of such Sheriffs as are not yet settled between the Houses.

Indemnity of Tenants.

An Ordinance for the Indemnity of well-affected Tenants, against the many Injuries and Oppressions of Popish and Delinquent Landlords, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Sir John Evelyn, Mr. Tate, Mr. Ashhurst, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Purefoy, Lord Mounson, Sir Chr. Yelverton, Mr. Hoyle, Mr. Anlaby, Mr. Shuttleworth, Mr. Nath. Stephens, Mr. Pury, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Swynfen, Mr. John Stephens, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Cary, Mr. Palmer, Mr. Jesson, Sir John Bampfeild, Sir Ralphe Ashton, Mr. Wauton, Mr. Darley, Mr. Long, Mr. Foxwist, Lord Grey, Mr. Bond, Sir Gregory Norton, Colonel Edwards, Mr. Baker, Mr. Morley, Mr. Grove, Sir Robert Pye, Sir Wm. Answer from Lords.

Mr. Wheeler brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Instructions for the Commissioners employed into Scotland: To the Orders concerning the Payment of the Monies to our Brethren of Scotland, they do agree; and have appointed their Commissioners to repair, with Diligence, into the Kingdom of Scotland, and to be there by the Eighth of February next: As to the Order touching Mr. Marshall and Mr. Caryll, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Mr. Speaker, by Command of the House, according to former Order, gave the Thanks of this House to Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Francis Allen, for their good Service in the Business they were employed upon in Hantsheir, at the Tryal of Captain Burley.

Earl of Suffolk's, &c. Impeachments.

Mr. Miles Corbett reported from the Committee, ingrossed in Parchment, Articles, thus intituled, "Articles of the Commons, assembled in Parliament, in Maintenance of their Impeachment against James Earl of Suffolke, whereby he stands charged of High Treason, and other High Crimes and Misdemeanors:" The which were read; and were the very same, in all Particulars, as those read and voted against Francis Lord Willoughby of Parham.

And, at the passing those Articles,

It was Ordered, That the like Articles, mutatis mutandis, should be brought in against the other Lords, accused by this House of High Treason; the Evidence running alike to all.

And accordingly he did report, as followeth, the like Articles, ingrossed, against the other Lords accused.

The Evidence to every Article was read, and applied by the Reporters.

The House began, in the first Place, with the particular Consideration of the Third Article; and then, having proceeded through the rest, resumed the Consideration of the First and Second, which were in more general Terms.

The Third Article being put to the Question, Whether this shall be One of the Articles of Impeachment against James Earl of Suffolke, in Maintenance of the Accusation of the said Earl;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

The Second Article was put to the Question: And

It is Resolved, That this shall be one of the Articles of Impeachment against the Earl of Suffolk, in Maintenance of the former Impeachment of the said Earl.

The Conclusion was put to the Question: And

It is Resolved, &c. That this shall be the Conclusion of the Articles of Impeachment against the Earl of Suffolk, in Maintenance of the former Impeachment of the said Earl.

The Title was put to the Question: And

It is Resolved, To be the Title of the Articles of Impeachment of the Earl of Suffolk, in Maintenance of the former Impeachment of the said Earl.

Resolved, &c. That these Articles of Impeachment against the Earl of Suffolk, in Maintenance of the former Impeachment of the said Earl, shall be sent to the Lords.

Sir Peter Wentworth is appointed to carry them to the Lords.

The Question being put, That the House shall now proceed in these Matters concerning the Impeachments;
