PRAYERS.

King's Servants.

THE bumble Petition of his Majesty's Coachmen, Littermen, Sumptermen, and Grooms of his Highness' Stables, was this Day read; and referred to the Committee for his Majesty's Revenue, where Sir H. Vane has the Chair.

Ship Ruby.

The humble Petition of Richard Wilshere, Master of the Ship Ruby of London, and the rest of the Ship's Company of Seamen of the Ship Ruby of London, was this Day read; and referred to Mr. Ellis, Sir Wm. Strickland, Mr. Jepson, Mr. Morley; to consider out of what Monies these Men may be speedily satisfied; and to report it to the House.

Basingstoke Market

Whereas a publick Market was, and is, usually kept in Basingstoke, on the Wednesdays in every Week; It is this Day Ordered, That on the Wednesdays, when the publick Fast is appointed to be observed, the Market shall not be kept; but in those Weeks that the Fast is to be observed, that the Market shall be kept on the Tuesday.

Rebellion in Ireland.

Mr. Jepson, Mr. Morley, Sir Gilb. Gerard, Mr. Prideaux, Sir Peter Wentworth, Sir Wm. Strickland, are appointed to receive all Informations concerning the Rebellion in Ireland; and to examine, what Persons they shall think fit, Members of this House or others, touching that Business: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records.

Hides, &c. from Ireland.

Ordered, That the Three thousand Five hundred and Forty-eight salt Hides, and Thirty Tuns of Tallow, brought upon the Elizabeth of London, from Munster in Ireland, upon the proper Account of the Lord Inchiquin, be landed Custom-free: And that the Business concerning the Title be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for the Affairs of Ireland where Mr. Goodwyn has the Chair.

Town of Crowland.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Navy do furnish the Town of Crowland in Lincolneshire with Ten Barrels of Powder, out of the Quantity of Powder borrowed from Portesmouth, and appointed to be restored unto him.

Finlay's, &c. Claims.

The humble Petitions of Alexander Finlay, John Johnstoun, and James Sanderson, concerning Monies owing unto them, for Provisions delivered by them into Ireland, for Relief of the Forces there, were this Day read: And, also a Petition of Captain Archibald Hambleton, praying Relief for his Sufferings while he was a Prisoner at Oxford; and for his other Losses:

The House doth declare, that they will take Course to pay these Monies very speedily: And, to enable them to make speedy Payment, they are resolved to quicken all Committees appointed for the raising of Monies, to employ their best Endeavours to advance and bring in Monies for the Employment and Service of the State.

Committees to Scotland.

Ordered, That To-morrow Morning a Conference shall be desired with the Lords, concerning the sending of Committees into Scotland.

Great Seal, &c.

Sir Peter Wentworth went up to the Lords, to desire a Conference concerning a Great Seal.

Mr. Glyn, Mr. Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Hill, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Whittlock, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Cage, Mr. Goodwyn, Mr. Ellis, Sir H. Mildmay, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Selden, Mr. Vassall, Mr. Wasthall, Sir Rob. Pye, Mr. Philip Smyth, Sir Dudley North, Sir Jo. Evelyn;

This Committee is to receive, and to examine, all Informations concerning Obstructions in the Courts of Justice, by reason of the Absence of the Great Seal of England, or of any of the Judges; or any other Seal of any Court; and to stay all Proceedings in such Suits, as they shall find Cause; and to give such other Redress to the Parties grieved, as they shall find just, until they can make Report to the House: They are likewise to prepare an Ordinance for making a Judge of the Prerogative Court: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records: And are to meet this Afternoon at Two of Clock in the Star Chamber: And the particular Care of this Business is especially recommended unto Mr. Prideaux.

Conference agreed to.

Sir Peter Wentworth brings Answer, that the Lords will give a present Meeting, at a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, as is desired.

Hopton's Sequestration.

Ordered, That the Sixty Pounds worth of Goods, Parcel of Sir Ralph Hopton's Estate, seized by an Order of both Houses for sequestring the Estates of Men in actual War against the Parliament, and made over to Mr. Strode, by Order of this House, for his Reparation, shall remain still with him, upon Account: And Mr. Strode further does this Day resign the House of Sir Ralph Hopton's which he has seized, and all Benefit that should accrue unto him, by virtue of the said Order for Sequestring the Estate of Sir Ralph Hopton to Mr. Strode's Use: And that the Sequestrators may, in all Parts, proceed to the Sequestring of his Estate, notwithstanding the said Order.

Surrey Assessments.

Ordered, That the Sum of One hundred Forty-nine Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Three-pence, raised by Order from my Lord General, and paid by the Inhabitants of divers Towns, in the middle Division of Surrey, be repaid to the said respective Inhabitants, by the publick Receiver of the said Middle Division of Surrey, out of such Monies as shall come in, in that County, upon the Ordinance for the weekly Assessments; and that Sir Gilb. Gerard, Treasurer at Wars, shall charge so much, upon Sir Henry Cholmeleye's Major, who received the said Monies; and to be allowed to the said Receiver in his Accounts.

Judge Bartlett, &c.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Dr. Bennett;

The Lords have appointed Wednesday next to hear the Cause against Judge Bartlett: And likewise, they will be ready to hear the Cause against the Bishop of Canterbury, when this House shall think fit to prosecute.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to manage the Evidence against the Judges, do meet this Afternoon, to prepare the Proofs against Judge Bartlett.

Church Government.

Ordered, That, To-morrow at Nine of Clock peremptorily, Mr. Rous do make Report of the Ordinance concerning an Assembly of Divines.

King's Message.

Ordered, That the Report concerning his Majesty's late Message touching Ireland, shall be made To-morrow Morning, next after the Report concerning an Assembly of Divines: And Mr. Speaker to put the House in mind hereof.

Warrant to Countess of Clare.

Resolved, That the Countess of Clare, and her Daughter, with their ordinary Retinue, shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant to go beyond Seas.

Sir W. Paston, &c.

Ordered, That Sir Wm. Paston, Sir Dudley Carleton, Sir H. Bedingfield, Sir Edw. Seyliard, the Lord Arlington, Sir H. Audley, do return into the Kingdom within Forty Days; or else, that their Estates shall be sequestred: That Notice hereof be left at their several Mansion Houses.

Not to leave the kingdom.

Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Lisle, are appointed to prepare an Order, to hinder any Persons to go out of the Kingdom, without the Licence of both Houses; excepting Merchants, Merchants Factors, and Mariners; under Pain of sequestring their Estates.

Experting Corn.

Ordered, That no Sort of Corn whatsoever be exported, but into Ireland, and from Port to Port in this Kingdom; and that the Officers of the several Ports do take care herein.

Croyland Garison.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Navy do forthwith take Order for furnishing Mr. John Willesby, Mr. John Weaver, and Mr. Wm. Lister, or any one of them, with Ten Barrels of Powder; to be sent to the Garison at Croyland, for the Use of the said Garison.

And it is further Ordered, That the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom do give Order, that the said Ten Barrels of Powder be returned into the Stores, for the Service of the said Garison; for the Defence of that Place, and Parts adjacent.
