PRAYERS.

Information from Norwich.

ORDERED, That the Information given of a Messenger of this House abused in Norwich, and the Information concerning the Misdemeanors of the Mayor and Recorder of Norwich, be referred to the Committee of the Association of the Counties of Norfolk, Essex, &c.

St. Nicholas Olaves Lecturer.

An Ordinance for Sequestring the Profits of the Parsonage of St. Nicholas Olaves in Breadstreet into the Hands of certain Sequestrators named in the said Ordinance; and for Placing therein of John Crosse Clerk, a learned and orthodox Divine, for the Discharge of the Cure of the said Church in all the Duties thereof, until farther Order shall be taken by both Houses of Parliament; was this Day read, and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Message to Lords.

Mr. Marten went with the Message Yesterday appointed, concerning the Lords Answer to the Votes upon the Propositions; and to the Ordinances for Assessing and Levying of Monies.

He likewise carried up the Ordinance concerning the Price of Coals: The Ordinance concerning Mr. Purefroy: The Ordinance concerning the Sequestring of Mr. Tabor's Parsonage: The Ordinance, Yesterday past, concerning Sussex: The Ordinance concerning Cheshire.

Salop, &c, Association.

An Ordinance and Instructions for associating the County of Salop to the Counties of Warwick and Stafford; and for Sir John Corbett to command, as Colonel, the Forces in Salop; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be carried to the Lords for their Concurrence, by Mr. Rich. Moore.

Complaints against Troopers.

Ordered, That Mr. Drake do inform Sir Wm. Waller of the Wrongs done him, by some Troopers under his Command: And that Sir Wm. Waller take Care, that the Persons complained of may be forthcoming, to answer the Complaints against them; that the Houses may be certified of his Damages, and that Satisfaction may be had.

State of Plymouth.

Several Letters from Plymouth, of the 11th of February, relating the State and Condition of that Town, and of the Cavaliers, the Besiegers.

Answer from Lords.

Mr. Marten brings Answer, That the Lords will enter into Consideration of the Votes upon the Propositions; and send Answer by Messengers of their own: And they will likewise send Answer to the several Orders by Messengers of their own.

Letter to Mayor of Plymouth.

Ordered, That Sir Jo. Young Knight do prepare a Letter to be signed by Mr. Speaker, to be sent to the Mayor of Plymouth, to take Notice of his good Service; and to return him Thanks for it; and to desire his Continuance.

Payment of Loan.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom do grant their Warrant to the Treasurer at Wars, for the Satisfying the Sum of Two hundred Pounds unto * *; being for so much borrowed by * *.

Member disabled to sit.

Resolved, &c. That the Lord Compton shall be disabled to sit or continue any longer a Member of this House, during this Parliament, for his being and appearing in actual War against the Parliament.

Prisoner of War.

Ordered, That it be referred to Mr. Rous, to draw an Extract out of such Letters as are come from several Places, to set forth unto .... the Usage of such Prisoners as are taken by the Cavaliers.

Prisoner discharged.

Upon the humble Petition of Richard Ridger, of the Parish of Gregory, London, Scrivener, now a Prisoner in London House, sent up from Thomas Lord Grey, being taken at Mr. Nevile's House .... be forthwith discharged from any farther Restraint or Imprisonment.

Persons passing beyond Seas.

Ordered, That the Mayor of Hastings do take Care of the Passages, and to see who passes beyond the Seas; and do take Care that no suspected Person do pass.

Pass for Don Calce.

Ordered, That Don Ector de le Calce, Maestro di Campo to the King of Spain, who was bound from Brasile into Flanders, and by contrary Wind put into Bristoll, shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant to pass into Flanders.

Money seized.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of Adrian Scrope, concerning Monies seized from him, be referred to the Consideration and Examination of the Committee for Examinations, to inform themselves, To whom the Money seized do truly and really belong.

Sir E. Wardour.

Ordered, That Sir Rob. Pye and Mr. Glyn do, To-morrow Morning, bring in an Ordinance for the Putting in an able Man, to execute Sir Edward Wardour's Place in the Receipt, during his Absence.

Assessment of Members.

Ordered, That the Committee for assessing the Members do consider, What the Members have done from the Beginning, upon the First and Second Propositions, either in the Country, or here: And that the Members do attend that Committee; and, by the Twenty-fourth of this Month, satisfy that Committee, What Money, Plate, or Horse, they have brought in, by bringing in their Acquittances, or other good Proof, to Mr. Trenchard, or any other of the Committee: And that they do report their Answers to the House: And that this Committee do sit every Day in the Exchequer.

Member to attend.

Ordered, That Sir Edw. Hales be summoned forthwith to attend the Service of the House.

Assessment of Members.

The Question being propounded, Whether such Members of the House as have been assessed by the Committee, and shall not pay their Assessments, shall be distrained; and if no Distresses found, that then they be suspended, till they do conform;

The Question was put, Whether it should be now put:

It passed with the Negative.

Ordered, That the Committee for assessing the Members of this House do prepare an Order, and present it to the House, for proceeding with such as shall not conform to such Assessments as are set upon them by the said Committee.

Warrant to hathsey.

Ordered, That Sir James Ramsey shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant to pass into Scotland, with Two Coach Horses, One Saddle Nag, and Two Servants.

Prisoners.

Ordered, That no Man shall move for the Discharge of any Prisoner, or the Exchange of their Prisons, but between Ten and Twelve.

Essex Assessment.

Ordered, That the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Essex, now in Town, do forthwith sign the Warrants for levying the Fourth of Four hundred thousand Pounds in the County of Essex, upon the Association.

Speaking against the King.

Ordered, That the Information of Words spoken by one Robert Sommers against his Majesty, taken by the Mayor of Rochester, and by him sent up to this House, be referred to the Committee for Examinations, where Mr. Whittacre has the Chair.

An Ordinance for the Sequestring of the Rents and Profits of the Parsonage of St. Andrewes, Warderobe, into the Hands of certain Sequestrators nominated in the said Ordinance; and for the Placing of Mr. Rich. Rolle, Master of Arts, a godly, learned, and orthodox Divine, to discharge the Cure of the said Place, in all the Duties thereof, until farther Order be taken by both Houses; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Bull La Parsonage.

An Ordinance for the Sequestring of the Rents and Profits of the Parsonage of Bashishaw, London, into the Hands of certain Sequestrators, nominated in the said Ordinance; and for the Placing of Charles Newton Clerk, Master of Arts, a godly and learned Divine, to discharge the Cure of the said Place, in all the Duties thereof, until farther Order be taken by both Houses; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.
