PRAYERS.

Calandria's Petition.

THE humble Petition of Alexander Calandria, refered to the Committee for Dr. Leighton's Petition.

The humble Petitions of Dr. Tomson, and Mrs. Kirby, and others, read:

Mr. Ellis, Mr. Palmer, Sir Jo. Hotham, Sir Jo. Wray, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Edw. Aiskew, Sir Peter Hayman, Ld. Fairefax, Sir Edm. Mountfort, Mr. Hatcher, Sir Jo. Culpepper, Mr. Cage, Sir Ph. Parker, Mr. Partridg, Sir Tho. Middleton, Mr. Noell, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Glyn, Sir Tho. Widrington, Mr. Owfield, Mr. Upton, Mr. Reignolds, Sir A. Ingram, Sir H. Anderson, Mr. Pelham, Mr. Fines, Mr. Peard, Mr. Nicholls, Mr. Potts, Mr. Cromwell, Sir Nath. Barnardiston, Mr. Lee;

This Committee is to take into Consideration the Petitions of Dr. Tomson, Mrs. Margaret Kirby, &c; and to report the State of them to the House; and has Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, or anything else, that may conduce to the Business; and are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Court of Chancery.

Petition against Serj. Hide.

There was much Debate, upon the Report made by Sir Fr. Seymour, from the Committee appointed to consider of the Petition, exhibited by the Town of Salisbury, against Serjeant Hide: But, at length, it was resolved, upon the Question, that the whole Business should be laid aside till another time.

Recusants.

Ordered, Thatan Order be sent from this House, to all the Justices of Peace of Westminster, London, and Middlesex, requiring and enjoining them, to command the Church-wardens and other Officers, of the several Parishes within their Precincts, to present unto them the said Justices the Names of the several Recusants, within their Parishes; that they may be proceeded against with Effect, according to Law, at the next Sessions, notwithstanding any Inhibition or Restraint.

Prisoner discharged.

Resolved, upon the Question, That * Hale, Bailiff of Tewxborough, formerly sent for, as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House, and now in the Serjeant's Custody, shall forthwith be discharged from any farther Restraint or Imprisonment.

Bailing Delinquents.

The Serjeant at Arms has Leave given him by this House, to take Bail of these several Delinquents now in his Custody, viz. Rich. Kilvert, Peter Wood, Dr. Cosins, Dr. Lafield, Alderman Abell, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Conradus, Mr. Hoth, Sir H. Spiller, and Jo. Moore, after he has first presented the Names of their several Bails to the House, and the Sums they are to be bound in, and that the House has allowed of them.

Impeachment of E. of Straford.

A Message brought from the Lords, by my Lord Chief Justice Litleton, and Judge Bartley;

That, according to a Desire of this House, by a late Message, they have deputed certain of their Members to take the Examinations of Witnesses, in the Cause of the Earl of Straford; which they will be ready to perform, in the Presence of such Members of this House, as shall be deputed for that Purpose.

Burton's Petition.

The humble Petition of Mr. H. Burton, read.

Attendance of Secretary Windebank.

A present Intimation was given to Mr. Secretary Windebank, that he might come hither presently; if it might stand with his Majesty's Occasions.

Answer was brought, that, upon his Majesty's Occasions, he sat up all last Night, and was newly gone to Bed; yet, if the House would command him, he would presently come: But there was Order given, that the like Intimation might be given him to be To-morrow Morning by Eight of Clock.

The humble Petition of Mr. Wm. Pryn, late Exile, and close Prisoner in the Isle of Jersey, being read: he was called in; [and did] avow his Petition.

Bruen's Petition.

The humble Petition of Calvin Bruen, Mercer of the City of Chester, read; and he, called in, did avow his Petition.

The humble Petition of Peter Leigh, of the City of Chester, Grocer, and Rich. Golborne, of Chester aforesaid, Gentleman, was read; and they were called in, and did avow their Petitions.

Wickins' Petition.

The humble Petition of Nath. Wickins, Servant to Mr. Wm. Pryn, was read; and he, called in, did avow his Petition.

This Committee is to take into Consideration the Petitions of Mr. Pryn, Mr. Burton, Nath Wickins Mr. Pryn's Servant, Calvin Bruen, and Peter Leigh, and * Golborne, of Chester: and have Power to receive all Petitions of the like Nature; and are to consider of the Jurisdiction of the High Commission Court of Canterbury and Yorke; and of the several Abuses committed in those Courts, or by any Judges or Officers of those Courts; and of the Jurisdiction of the Courts of Star-chamber; And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, or any thing else that many conduce to the Business; and to assign and hear Counsel: And are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Star-chamber.

Leicestershire Grievances.

Ordered, That the particular Grievances of Leicestershire, concerning military Charges, be referred to the Consideration of That Committee, that is appointed for Mr. Fant's Petition.

Lord Montnorris.

The Committee, for my Lord Montnorris his Petition, is ordered to sit this Afternoon.

Ordered, That the Earl of Kildare's Petition, presented to the Grand Committee for Irish Affairs, be referred to the Sub-committee for those Affairs.
