PRAYERS .

Trained Bands.

THE humble Petition of Michael Millard Esquire, One of the Captains of the Trained Band for the County of Midd' was this Day read; and ordered to be referred to the Committee for Trained Bands of Midd', &c.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House holds it fit, that the Trained Bands should be discharged from any farther Night-watches; and that a Message should be sent to the Lords to this Purpose: And Mr. Strode is appointed to go up with this Message.

Ordinances amended.

Ordered, That these Words, "and for that his Majesty hath especially recommended the Care of the Preservation of that Kingdom unto both Houses of Parliament," be inserted in the Two Ordinances of Parliament, presented from the Committee of Irish Affairs Yesterday; and assented unto by the House.

Proceedings against Stewart.

Ordered, That Mrs. Harding shall be examined by Sir Robert Pye and Mr. Glyn, touching the Information given in concerning Mr. Stewart: And that the said Mr. Stewart be kept in safe Custody.

Transports.

Order of both Houses to the Lord Admiral, for Providing of Ships for the sudden Transporting of Men, Arms, Ammunition, and other Provisions, according to former Resolutions of both Houses, was this Day read; and, upon Question, assented unto.

Reward to Occonnolis.

Owen Occonnolis, who discovered the Treason in Ireland, had Five hundred Pounds appointed him, in Part of Recompence: It is now Ordered, That Sir Ro. Pye, and Mr. Wheeler, and the Treasurers at Westminster for the Poll-money, do forthwith pay unto the said Occonnolis the said Five hundred Pounds.

Irish Affairs.

Resolved, That an Order be prepared, to stop any such Irishmen as endeavour to pass into Ireland, without Licence from the Lords of the Council or the Lord Lieutenant:

That Power be given to the Lords Justices in Ireland, to examine and apprehend such Persons as shall be recommended to their Care, of whom the Lord Lieutenant has received evident Grounds of Suspicion.

Nightwatch.

Mr. Strode brings Answer, that the Lords have given Order to the Lord High Chamberlain, who is Lord General of this side Trent, that he dismiss the Nightwatch.

Ordered, That Sir Ro. Pye, Mr. Glyn, and Mr. Wheeler, and the Justices of Peace for Westminster, do take care, that there be a strong and sufficient Watch kept every Night in and about Westminster.

Conference.

Mr. Hotham is appointed to go to Lords with this Message;

To desire a Conference with their Lordships, by a Committee of both Houses.

Mr. Hollis, and Sir H. Vane, are appointed Managers of this Conference.

Trained Bands.

Resolved, upon the Question, That another Head of the Conference shall be, that the Earl of Essex may have Power, from both Houses, to command the Trained Bands on this side Trent, upon all Occasions, for the Defence of the Kingdom; and that this Power may continue till this Parliament shall take further Order.

Scotch Army, &c.

Memorandum, Mr. Hollis carried up with him, at this Conference, the Letter from the Committee of the Twenty-seventh of October, and the Paper enclosed, concerning the Answer of the Parliament of Scotland to the Demands of our Committees, touching the Disbanding of their Army; and the Depositions taken in the Parliament of Scotland, being Twelve Papers in Number.

Conference.

Mr. Hotham brings Answer, that the Lords will give a present Meeting, by a Committee of both Houses, as is desired.

Trained Bands.

That this House holds it fit, that the Deputy Lieutenants should have Power to call in, to the Trained Bands, the Number delivered in a List from the Committee: And that this shall be an Head of a Conference to be desired with the Lords.

Persons to be summoned.

Ordered, That Mr. Green, Grocer, Mr. Smyth of the Custom-house, arid Wm. Chamberleyne, Merchant, be forthwith summoned to appear here presently.

Person sent for.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Doctor Wm. Fuller, Dean of Ely, shall be forthwith sent for, as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House; for divers dangerous and scandalous Matters delivered by him in several Sermons: and attested here in the House by sundry Witnesses.

Instructions to Committee in Scotland.

A Copy of the Instructions to be sent to the Committee of both Houses in Scotland, was this Day presented from the Committee, and read over; and each particular Head of those Instructions put to the Question.

Resolved, upon the Question, That all the Parts of this Sixth Article shall be intirely put in One Question:

This Question being proposed, whether all these Parts shall be the Sixth Article of the Instructions to be sent to the Committee in Scotland;

The Question was put, whether this Question should be now put: And

It was Resolved, upon the Question, that this Question shall not be now put.
