PRAYERS.

Levant Company.

THE humble Petition of the Governor and Company of the Merchants of England trading to the Levant Seas, was this Day read; and referred to the Committee for Trade, to be considered of when that Committee shall be revived and sit.

Privilege- Subponaing a Member.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Tho. Gay shall be forthwith sent for, as a Delinquent, for serving of a Sub-pona upon Mr. Heblethwayte, a Member of this House; it being affirmed, by a Member of the House, that he very well knew him to be a Member of the Parliament.

Scotch Coin.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords To-morrow Morning, concerning some Scotch Coin, that passes up-and-down as current in this Kingdom.

Ordered, That the Say-master of the Mint be forthwith required to attend the House.

Message to Lords.

Mr. Goodwin is appointed to go up to the Lords with this Message;

To desire their Lordships, That Mr. Wheeler, a Member of this House, may be examined, concerning the Thirteen Bishops, accused by this House for the Making the last new Canons.

Sir John Hotham is to go after Mr. Goodwyn with this Addition to his Message;

Also to desire the Lords, that they would be pleased, for the more speedy Dispatch of the Soldiers out of Town, to determine something concerning the Three Points of the Soldiers Complaints, presented at a Conference with their Lordships.

Petition against evil Counsellors.

Mr. Hollis, Sir Walth, Erle, Mr. Pym, Mr. Waller, Mr. Hide, Mr. Strode, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Pierrepoint, Mr. Bellassis, Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Whitlock, Sir Hugh Cholmeley, Sir Tho. Barrington, Sir Ro. Goodwyn, Mr. Glyn, Sir Arth. Heselrig, Sir Simonds D'Ewes, Mr. Arth. Goodwyn;

This Committee is to prepare Heads, out of the whole Debate that has been this Day, for a Petition to be preferred to his Majesty, to prevent the Mischiefs that may happen to the Commonwealth by the Choice and Employment of evil Counsellors, Ambassadors, Judges, Officers, and other Ministers of State: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four of Clock, in the Exchequer-chamber: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, and any thing else that may conduce to the Service.

Walker's Disbursements.

Ordered, That Sir Ro. Pye and Mr. Wheeler, do peruse the State of the Disbursements of Mr. Walker, Paymaster of Carlile: And report to the House how they find the Account, that some Course may be taken for the Payment of such Monies as are really due unto him.

Publick Business.

Mr. Whittlock presents to the House, the Order which himself and Mr. Palmer were, by an Order Yesterday, required to prepare, concerning the Houses entering into the Consideration of publick Businesses only, &c. in hæc Verba, viz:

Die Mercurii, 27^moOct. 1641. "The Commons in this present Parliament assembled, because many and important publick Businesses, concerning the Church and State, do yet remain unsettled; and for preventing the Danger that may grow, in this Time of Contagion, by the Resort of his Majesty's Subjects to their Committees for private Affairs; and having appointed to sit in their House daily, from Ten of the Clock in the Morning, until Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, which will leave no Time convenient for Committees; have thought fit, and accordingly Ordered, That they will take into Consideration the general only, and lay aside all private Business, until the House shall take farther Order; and that no Committee whatsoever shall sit, without a new Order from the House; and that no Parties or Witnesses shall attend, without new Summons; whereof, for avoiding the Charge and Trouble of Attendance, they do hereby give notice to the whole Kingdom."

Ordered, That this Order be forthwith published in Print.

Answer from Lords.

Mr. Goodwyn brings Answer, that their Lordships will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Sir R. Berkeley's Impeachment.

According to an Order of Yesterday, the Articles of Impeachment of Sir Robert Berkeley Knight, were this Day read; and the particular Proofs, applicable to the particular Clauses of each Article, were likewise read; and then delivered to Mr. Pierrepoint, who brought them in.

Cause of Hollis, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Glyn, and Mr. Waller, shall prepare the Transmission of the Cause of Mr. Hollis, Mr. Selden, Mr. Valentine, Mr. Strode, &c. to be transmitted to the Lords, according to the Votes of this House in that Cause.

Long's Cause.

Mr. Glyn. is likewise appointed to make Report of Mr. Walth. Long's Cause To-morrow Morning.

Justice Bartlett.

Ordered, That the House shall resume the Consideration of Justice Bartlett's Business To-morrow Morning, if the Business appointed for that Time will permit; if not, that Mr. Speaker put the House in mind of resuming that Business at the First Leisure.

Person to attend.

Ordered, That Mr. Sackvile Wade, Register to the last Synod, be summoned forthwith to attend this House; and to bring with him the Book of the Acts of the said Synod: And further Ordered, That a Messenger be sent of purpose to summon the said Mr. Waide, and to hasten him to bring the said Book.
