PRAYERS.

Committees added.

SIR Robert Pye, Mr. Heblethwaite, Mr. Moore, Sir Tho. Barrington, Mr. Popham, Mr. Ashe, Sir Harbottle Grimston, Sir George Dalston, Sir H. Anderson, Mr. Conningsby, are added to the Committee for Sir James Thynne and Sir H. Frederick his Brother's Business.

Queen Mother

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to consider of providing Ten thousand Pounds, for furnishing the Queen Mother in her Journey, do meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Treasury-chamber.

Mayor of Hull.

Ordered, That the Committee for the King's Army take into Consideration the Matter of Fact, of the Complaint in the Lord General's Letter against the Mayor of Hull; and represent the State of it to the House.

Poll-money.

Mr. Venn is to give Account, To-morrow Morning, of so much Monies as has been received of the Poll-money, since the First Issuing out of the Commissions.

Billet money, &c.

Sir John Hotham's Report from the Committee for the King's Army was resumed: And thereupon the House doth resolve to consider, what is fit to be done in the Business concerning the Waggons, in November next.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Billet-money due from the Tenth of February last, for the Men and Horses of the Captains and Officers belonging to the Waggons, which have been billetted upon the Country, (the State of those Billets being first made manifest) shall be paid by this House in November next.

Ordered, The Lord General shall take it into Consideration, that if the Officers have billetted upon the Country more Waggons and Horse than were allowed them by their Entertainment, that so much shall be deducted out of such Captains and Officers Pay as shall satisfy the Billet of the Country.-

Conference on Message from the King.

A Message from the Lords, by J. Heath and J.Mallett;

The Lords desire a present Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, touching a Message they have this Morning received from the King, which he purposed should be communicated to both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Leisure of this House.-

Report to be resumed.

That at the Return from the Conference, this Report from the Committee for the King's Army shall be resumed.-

Conference.

Answer returned by the same Messengers;

This House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration; and are resolved to give a present Meeting.

Mr. Treasurer, Sir Walter Erle, Sir John Holland, Mr. Glyn, Mr. Hollis, Mr. Fines, Mr. Bellassis, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Queen of Bohemia.

Mr. Hampden acquaints the House, that the Queen of Bohemia hath writ a Letter unto the Earl of Essex, wherein she takes Notice of the Forwardness and Affection of this House, in that which they have declared to his Majesty, touching the Manifesto on the Behalf of the Prince her Son; and desired him to present Thanks to this House, from her: Which he hath done already to the Lords.

Conference.

Mr. Treasurer reports the Conference with the Lords:

That he had not much to say; it was contained in Writing: "My Lord Privy Seal said, that he had received from the Lords a Paper, which Sir John Bankes, Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, was pleased to present to the House, as containing the Substance of the Message he had received from the King, to be imparted to both Houses." (Here the Paper itself was read.) This being read; my Lord Privy Seal said, " He was to acquaint us with a Letter sent from the Spanish Ambassador to the King; and that the Lords thought fit no Answer should be given, till this House was made acquainted therewith; and Three Points cleared: 1. What Number of Men were to go;- the Time when;-and the Manner how; and to be satisfied when the Contract was made, and how it standeth with the Resolution of this House.

Here the Letter itself was read.

Ordered, That the Consideration of * * this Report, now made by Mr. Treasurer, of the Conference with the Lords, shall be resumed To-morrow Morning.

Provisions in case of King's Absence.

Mr. Selden, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Glyn, Mr. Hampden, Sir Symonds D'Ewes, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Hollis, Sir John Clotworthy, Sir John Colpepper, Mr. Pym, Sir Walter Erle, Lord Falkland, Mr. Hide, Mr. Strode, Mr. Carew, Sir Sam. Rolle, Mr. Treasurer, Sir Tho. Barrington, Mr. Whitlocke, Mr. Martin, Mr. Whistler, Mr. Fines, Mr. Peirpoint;

This Committee is to take into Consideration, what is fit to present to the House, in case the King shall be out of the Kingdom when the Parliament is sitting: And have Power to send for such Persons, Records, and Papers, as they shall think fit: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Inner Court of Wards.

House to sit.

Ordered, That the House shall sit this Afternoon, at Two of Clock: And the Members of the House are enjoined to attend: And no Committee is to sit, but That appointed to consider of the Parliament sitting when the King shall be out of the Kingdom.

Lords to sit.

Mr. Hollis went up to the Lords, to desire their Lordships to sit this Afternoon, if it shall stand with their Conveniency.

Defects in Bill for raising Money.

Complaint against Bp. of Rapho.

UPON a Report, this Day made to the House, from the Grand Committee for Irish, Affairs, touching the Petition of Thomas Bruce Doctor of Divinity and Parson of Taghboyn in the Kingdom of Ireland, depending before that Committee, complaining against the Bishop of Rapho in the said Kingdom of Ireland, for an unjust Suspension and Sequestration of him the said Doctor Bruce ab Ingressu Ecclesiæ; who, being summoned to attend this House, hath neglected to do the same: It is Ordered, That the said Bishop of Rapho do forthwith take off the said Suspension and Sequestration, and permit the said Doctor Bruce to be in the same condition he was before the said Suspension and Sequestration: And in case of Refusal, that then such further Course may be taken herein, either by recommending the same to the Parliament in Ireland, or otherwise, as shall stand with the Wisdom of this House.

Ld. General thanked.

Ordered, That Sir Philip Stapleton do desire the Earl of Essex, from this House, to return Thanks to the Lord General, for his Care in Disbanding of the Five Regiments; and that this House is satisfied, none of them returned to the Army, as hath been given out.

Man's Petition.

The Petition of Theophilus Man read; touching the Resolution of the Committee where Mr. King hath the Chair, and signed by him, whereby Mr. Man is voted not to take any Fees by virtue of his Office as Searcher, till further Order &c.

Property of the Subject.

Declared by the House, that no Committee ought, by Vote, to determine the Right and Property of the Subject without first acquainting the House therewith.

Disbanding the Army, &c.

Sir John Hotham proceeded on, with his Report, where he left in the Forenoon.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Billet for Men and Horse belonging to the Train of Artillery, the State of the Billet being first made manifest to this House, shall be paid in November next by this House.

Resolved, &c. That the General of the Artillery, and the Lieutenant General of the Artillery, shall be paid their whole Pay in November next; and all the rest of Artillery to be paid upon the Disbanding.

Resolved, &c. That the Serjeant-majors, and all other Officers of the Field above them, shall be paid in November next, their whole Pay due unto them as Officers of the Field.

Resolved, &c. That the Captains shall be paid Half-pay, and the superior Officers abovesaid their Half-pay, upon the Disbanding due unto them as Captains.

Resolved, &c. That the Captains of the Horse shall be paid Half-pay, upon the Disbanding, and the rest in November next.

Resolved, &c. That the rest of the Officers of the Horse above Captain shall receive their whole Pay in November next.

Resolved, &c. That the rest of the Officers of the Horse shall receive their whole Pay upon disbanding, except what is due for their Billet.

Resolved, &c. That the Billet-money, which is due from the Officers, shall be paid to the Country in November next.

Resolved, &c. That the Men and Horse belonging to the Waggons both of the Horse and Foot Company, shall be likewise discharged.

A Conference to be had with the Lords; to desire, that the Horse belonging to the Train of Artillery may be presently disbanded with the Eight Troops already presented to their Lordships: At the same Conference, to move the Lords to treat with the Scotts Commissioners, that, for as much Money as shall appear, upon Account made and allowed of, to be due to the Bishoprick of Durham, and the County of Northumberland, and Newcastle, may be allowed, of the Eighty Thousand Pounds of the Brotherly Assistance.

Hat Trade.

Ordered, That the Petition of the Aldermen, Wardens, and Company or Society of the Art, Mystery, or Trade, of Hat or Felt-makers within the City of Chester, be referred to the Committee for Trade.

Disbanding the Army.

Mr. Carew to go to the Lords with this Message; to desire a Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, touching the Disbanding of the King's Army.

Sir John Hotham, Mr. Bellassis, Mr. Capell, Sir Hugh Cholmley, and Mr. Prideaux, are appointed Managers of this Conference.

Abolishing Episcopacy.

Ordered, That the House be resolved into a Committee To-morrow Morning at Eight of Clock, to take into Debate the Bill concerning Episcopacy: And Mr. Speaker is to interrupt the House in any other Business at that time.

Sequestering Archbp. of Canterbury, &c.

Resolved, upon the Question, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, to join with this House, to move his Majesty, that there may be a Sequestration of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the Bishop of Ely, ab Officiis.

Committees.

Ordered, That all those Committees that were appointed to sit this Afternoon, do sit To-morrow at Two of the Clock, in their usual Places.

Leave of Absence.
