PRAYERS.

Fullers Earth.

ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee for the Bill for Fullers Earth, Wool, and Wool-fells, to consider of some secure Way of Transporting of Fullers Earth, viz. of such a Quantity as they shall think fit, into the Counties of Lincolne and Nottingham.

Leave of Absence.

Sir Patricius Curwin, Sir Ralph Sydenham, Mr. Noble, have leave to go into the Country.

Lady Lake's Deed.

Ordered, That the Deed, which, upon a Suggestion of the Lady Lake's that it was hers, was by this House ordered to be delivered, by the Examiner of the Star-chamber, to the said Lady Lake; the House being this Day informed, that it did not belong to her; neither was the same Deed brought in by her to the said Court of Star-chamber: For the contrary doth appear by an Order in the Court of Requests:

Ordered, therefore, That the said Lady Lake shall forthwith deliver the said Deed to the Clerk of this House, to be safely kept.

Leave to be examined by Lords.

Mr. Peirpoint, Mr. Strode, Sir Walter Erle, Sir Peter Wroth, Sir Thomas Cheeke, Sir Sam. Rolle, Mr. Carew, Sir Arthur Ingram, Sir * Hippisley, Sir Robert Pye, Mr. Cage, Mr. Hatcher, Mr. Grimston, Serjeant Wilde, Sir Edw. Aiscough, Mr. Perd, Sir Wm. Massam, Sir Christopher Yelverton, Sir Antho. Irby, * Browne, Mr. Coningsby, Mr. Broxam, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Mr. Dutton, Sir John Hotham, Sir Sidney Mountague, Sir Richard Buller, Sir Wm. Pennyman, * Hatton, Sir Guy Palmes, and Sir Tho. Hutchinson, have Leave to be examined in the Lords House as Witnesses, &c.

Motions concerning the Star-chamber.

Ordered, That if any Member of this House shall have Occasion to make any Motion or Question to the House concerning any thing that has had Dependence in the Star-chamber, they shall first acquaint the Committee, or any Eight of them, therewith, that they may consider of it, and report it to the House, if they shall think it worthy: And they are to meet every Saturday in the Star-chamber.

Examining Godfrey.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Pye, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Mr. Whitlocke, and Sir Hen. Anderson, and Mr. Reynolds, shall examine Mr. Godfrey, a Prisoner in the Gatehouse, upon these Points, that Browne the Priest has informed against him; and offer him the Oaths of Supremacy and Allegiance: And, upon their Report, he shall be released from Prison.

Dawes' Creditors.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of the Creditors of Sir Abraham Dawes be referred to the Committee for the Customers; to take so far into their Considerations, that they do not prejudice the King, the Commonwealth, nor any others that have formerly petitioned against Sir Abraham Dawes, and the rest: And they are to report the State of the Business to the House, with what convenient Speed they can.

Commrs for Poll-money.

That Mr. Valentine, and Mr. Carew, shall inform themselves of the Delivery of the Commissions for the Bill of Poll-money; and report to the House where the Stop has been.

Burrell's Case.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Widdrington shall make Report of Mr. Christopher Burrell's Case, late Minister of Great Wratting in Com' Suff', on Monday Morning next.

Obnoxious Publication, &c.

Ordered, That the Pamphlet, intituled, The Order and Form for Church Government by Bishops and the Clergy of this Kingdom, be referred to the Committee for Printing, where Sir Edward Deering has the Chair; and that That Committee shall be revived, to this Business, and other Businesses of the like nature: And Mr. Selden, Mr. Grimston and Mr. Rowse, are added to this Committee: And they are to inquire after the Author and Printer of this Pamphlet, and of all others of the like nature; and to report it to the House with all convenient Speed they can: And they are likewise to send for one Mr. Hollingworth, that preached a Sermon on Sunday last at St. Margarett's, Westminster; and for a Copy of that Sermon; and to consider of it; and to report it to the House: And that a Copy of an Order, informed to be made in the House of Peers concerning the Bishop of Lincolne's appointing such as shall preach there, be brought to that Committee; to be considered of by them, whether there be any such Order; and to inform this House thereof: And that the Information given to this House concerning Two Orations made in the Two Universities of Oxon and Cambridge, touching the Decay of Learning, by the Vice-chancellors of the said several Universities; and the Sermons preached by Mr. Burton, and one Mr. Blackwell, at St. Margarett's, Westminster, be referred to the Consideration of that Committee.

Sir John Wray, and Sir Sedney Mountague, are likewise added to this Committee: And they are to meet To-morrow post meridiem at Two of Clock, in the Inner Court of Wards.

Remonstrance on State of the Kingdom, &c.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for the Remonstrance and Petition, to draw up a Remonstrance of the State of the Kingdom and the Church; in what State this Parliament found it; and what their Proceedings have been in reference to the Church and State: And they are to bring in this Remonstrance by Tuesday next: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Inner Court of Wards.

Forests.

Sir Edward Leech, and Dr. Bennett, bring from the Lords a Bill for the Ascertaining the Metes of the Forests, which they have passed, with some small Alterations.

Disbanding the Army.

A Message from the Lords, by J. Reeve and Serjeant Finch;

The Lords desire a present Conference, by Committees of both Houses, touching the Disbanding of the Armies, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House.-

Business to be resumed.

Ordered, That the Members of this House shall, after the Conference ended, and that the House shall resume the Business they are now in Agitation of * * * *

Conference.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; that this House will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Ordered, That the same Gentlemen, that were appointed Reporters and Managers of the Conference Yesterday, shall be Reporters of this Conference.

Committees joined.

Ordered, That the Committee for settling an Order for Account for the Poll-money; and the Committee for a Declaration to be made, concerning the Sheriffs giving Entertainment to the Judges; be joined, and made One Committee: And sit To-morrow post meridiem at Two of Clock, in the Treasury-chamber.

Counsel in the Lords.

Mr. Chadwell and Mr. Holborne have Leave to be of Counsel, on Monday Morning next, with Sir Peter Vanlore, before the Lords.

Conference.

Sir John Colpepper reports the Conference:

That the English Lords Commissioners propounded to the Scotish Commissioners the Resolutions of this House, offered to them Yesterday at a Conference; and that the Scotts had sent their Answer in Writing: Which was read.

Scotch Army Arrears.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for the King's Army, to consider of the Arrears due to the Scotts Army; to audit and perfect the Accounts; and present the State of them to the House with all convenient Speed: And they are, to this Purpose, to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock: And that the Paper, this Day brought from the Lords, be referred to the Consideration of that Committee:

Loans.

And the Committee for the King's Army is likewise to consider of some convenient Way to propound unto the City, for the Borrowing again of such Monies as were formerly lent and are now ready to be paid to the Lenders: And they are likewise to consider of Means for providing Monies, by Loan or otherwise; and how the Monies shall be discharged.

Sir Gilbert Gerrard has formerly lent Five hundred Pounds for the Publick Service, which is ready, in the Chamber of London, to be paid him; which he is willing to continue the Loan of, for a longer time, for the Service of the Commonwealth.

State of the Kingdom.

A Message from the Lords, by Serjeant Whitfeild and Serjeant Finch;

The Lords resolve to sit this Afternoon, at Four of Clock, about the important Businesses of the Kingdom; and do desire this House would sit at the same time, if it may stand with their Conveniency.

Ordered, That the House sit at Four of Clock.

Answer returned by the same Messengers;

The House has taken into Consideration their Lordships Message; and is resolved to sit this Afternoon, at Four of Clock.

Report to be resumed.

Ordered, That the Business of the Report made Yesterday from the Committee of Seven, shall be resumed To-morrow Morning at Eight of Clock; and no other Business to interrupt it.

Poll-money.

This Day Mr. Wheeler made Report, and presented the Names of such of the Members of this House, and of the Societies of the Inns of Court, that have paid in their Monies, payable by an Act of Parliament for the speedy Provision of Monies, &c.

Post Meridiem

Trial by Battaille.

ORDERED, That the Petition of Richard Lilbourne Gentleman, this Day preferred to this House, shall be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for the Bill for Abolishing of Trial by Battaile, to be considered of when the Committee shall be revived.

Hunt's Estate.

2da vice lecta est Billa, An Act to enable Tho. Hunt to sell Lands for the Payment of his Debts, &c.

The Question was first put, for the Committing; which passed with the Negative: And then, upon the Question of Rejection, it was rejected.

Forefts.

Amendments to the Bill for Forests, sent down from the Lords, were read; and, upon the Question, the Bill ordered presently to be amended accordingly: The which was done; and the Amendments thrice read; and, upon the Question assented unto.

The Amendments were these; viz.

In the Second Press, Line 24, between the Word "of," and the Word "the," these Words to be put in, "any of the Peers of this Kingdom, or of."

Line 28, between the Word "said" and the Word "Knights," the Word "Peers" to be put in.

Arrears due to Scotland, &c.

Sir John Hotham reports from the Committee for the King's Army;

There will be due to the Scotts, in toto, upon the Twelfth of August, Fifty-seven thousand Four hundred Pounds: Ten thousand Pounds is expected from the voluntary Loan of the Members: So that there will be requisite Forty-seven thousand Pounds.

Mr. Vassall is appointed to go to the Lord Mayor, to require him forthwith to send to the Master and Wardens of the several Companies, to speed the Collecting of the Monies directed to be levied by force of an Act of Parliament for the speedy Provision of Monies, &c. and to give an Account of it To-morrow.

Ordered, That the Serjeant give Notice to the old Customers, that the House doth expect, that they should pay in the Eighteen thousand Six hundred and odd Pounds, ordered to be paid to the Earl of Warwicke, for the Relief of the Northern Parts, between this and Tuesday next.

Leave of Absence.

Sir Edm. Mountford has Leave to go into the Country.

Loan from the City.

Resolved, upon the Question. That a Conference shall be desired with the Lords, this Night, concerning the Borrowing Forty thousand Pounds of the City.

The Lord Dungarvon is to go to the Lords, with a Message to that Purpose.

Brings Answer, The Lords will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Sir John Hotham reports from the Conference, that their Lordships are very ready to join with this House, concerning the Treating with the City, touching the Borrowing of Forty thousand Pounds; and will send for the Lord Mayor, and some of the Aldermen, to be here To-morrow Morning, to propound it unto them.
