PRAYERS.
Hoole Parish.
MR. Millington and Mr. Allestree are added to the Committee for the Bill for the Parish of Hoole.
Suit to be staid.
Whereas a Petition was preferred to this House, against George *, for a scandalous Minister, the same Minister pretending the Matters laid down, to be spoken by Timothy Whiting, that set his Hand to the Petition, sues him upon an Action of the Case: It is ordered, that the Suit, the Petition depending here, shall be staid.
Leave of Absence.
Sir John Pawlett has Leave to go into the Country for some convenient Time.
Lincolne Fens, &c.
By Resolution, upon the Question,
It is Ordered, That Mr. Speaker shall direct his Letter to the Sheriff, and Justices of the County of Lincolne, near the Fen Grounds, between Bourne and Kyme, &c. to preserve the Peace of both Sides; and to repress all Tumults; and to preserve the Corn and Rape-seed already sown.
That it be referred to Smart's Committee his Petition, to consider how far the Adventurers in the Level between Bourne and Kyme, &c. have trenched upon the Privileges of this House, in entering upon the Parts of the Commoners, by an Order from the Lords, during that the Commoners had a Petition here depending.
Proceedings against Fountaine, &c.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Judges of the King's-bench, to proceed, according to Law, against Monsieur de Fountaine, for Harbouring and Entertaining of a Priest in his House; as also against the Priest himself, who was Yesterday apprehended at the House of the said Mr. Fountaine, and now Prisoner in the Gate-house; and to certify their Proceedings to this House: And Mr. Whistler and Mr. Perd are to deliver the Order and Directions unto the Judges.
Forests.
That Mr. Palmer shall report the Bill concerning the Forests on Monday Morning.
Abolishing Episcopacy.
The Order, Yesterday made, for the House to be resolved into a Grand Committee, to proceed with the Bill concerning Episcopacy, was read: And, accordingly, Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
And Mr. Hide was called to the Chair.
And Committee proceeded with the Bill as aforesaid.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Upon Mr. Hide's Report from the Grand Committee; it was, by the House,
Resolved, upon the Question, that a competent Maintenance shall be allotted out of the Lands and Possessions of the Cathedral Churches, for the Support of a fit Number of preaching Ministers, for the Service of every such Church; and a proportionable Allowance for the Reparation of the said Churches.
Resolved, upon the Question, That such Ecclesiastical Power, as shall be exercised for the Government of the Church, shall be transferred by this Act into the Hands of Commissioners, to be named in this Act.
That the House shall be resolved into a Committee, on Monday, at Nine of Clock, to proceed with the Bill concerning Episcopacy.
Privilege- Person committed.
Resolved, upon the Question, that Gregory Dexter, a Printer shall forthwith be committed a Prisoner to the Gate-house, for his Contempt and Disobedience to this House, in refusing to answer such Questions as were demanded of him by this House, and other Misdemeanours; there to remain during the Pleasure of this House.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Barrington, Sir Arthur Haslerigge, Mr. Nicholls, Sir Jo. Evelyn, Mr. Shuttleworth, Mr. Bodevile, Mr. Robert Goodwin, Mr. Bamfeild, Mr. Younge, Mr. Martin, shall be added to the Committee for Secretary Windebanke: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Duchy-court:

Obnoxious Publication.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for Printing, where Sir Edward Deering hath the Chair, to take into Consideration the Printing of the Book, intituled, A Protestation protested; and to examine the Printer thereof; and to inform themselves of the Author of that Book; and of the Scandal to this House, by any Passages in that Book; and speedily to report the same to this House: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Three of Clock, in the Exchequer-court.
Tonage and Poundage.
3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Granting of a Subsidy to the King of Tonage and Poundage; and other Sums of Money payable upon Merchandizes exported and imported; and, upon Question, passed.
Mr. Solicitor is appointed to carry up the Act of Tonage and Poundage to the Lords.
Baites' Case.
That it be referred to the Committee appointed to consider of the Lords Message touching Mr. Smart's Business, to consider of the Judgment given in Baites' Case; and think of some fit Way for the Reversing of it: And to present their Opinions to this House.

Mr. Martin has Leave to go speak with Sir George Ratcliffe.
Preston's Trial.
Mr. Solicitor is appointed to move the Judges to respite the Trial of Preston the Priest, till the House shall advise further of it.

Ship Nevill.
Whereas Information is given, that the Ship called Nevill of London, is now at Customers Key, laden with a great quantity of Calves Skins; it is Ordered, That the said Ship and Goods shall be stayed and searched by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House, taking to his Assistance John Coltman, Wharfinger of the Customhouse Key, and John Mitchell One of the Farmers Officers: And that the Serjeant shall put the Goods, so seized, into safe Custody, till the House shall take further Order therein.
Provision of Money.
Ordered, That Mr. Solicitor, Sir Philip Stapleton, and Mr. Hotham, do forthwith repair unto the Lord Keeper; and to desire him from this House, forthwith to give Directions for the speedy issuing out of Commissions, for the speedy raising of Monies appointed to be paid by this last Act that is now come forth, intituled, An Act for the speedy Provision of Money, &c.
