Preachers appointed.

ORDERED, That Mr. Reynold and Mr. Hill be desired to preach at the next publick Fast, before the Commons at St. Margaret's, Westminster: And Sir Christ. Yelverton is to signify unto them this Desire of the Commons.

Preachers thanked.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Barrington do return Thanks to Dr. Gouge and Mr. Sedgewick, for the great Pains they took in the Sermons they this Day preached, at the Intreaty of the Commons House, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, this being the Day of the publick Fast; and that they be desired to print their Sermons; with the like Order of Restraint as hath been formerly granted in the like Case.

Ordered, That Mr. Ash and Mr. Hampden do return Thanks to Mr. Ashe and Dr. Burgesse, for the good Pains they took in the Sermons they preached the last Fast Day but Two, at the Intreaty of the Commons House; and that they be desired to print their Sermons; with the like Order of Restraint as formerly has been granted for the Printing of Sermons preached before the Commons.

St. Fosters, London, Lecturer.

Upon the humble Petition of the Parishioners of the Parish of St. Fosters, in Foster-Lane, London, desiring James Eliott, Doctor in Divinity, to be their Lecturer, to preach the Lord's Days and Fast Days in the Afternoon, and on Fridays before the Sacrament, whom they undertake to maintain at their own Charge, this Day presented to the House, and read: And upon the Certificate of Dr. Gouge, Mr. Josias Shute, Mr. Ephraim Pagett, and Mr. Philip Edline, who do certify that he is a Man orthodox in Judgment, industrious in his Function, pious, sober, and peaceable, in his Life and Conversation: It is Ordered, That the said Dr. Eliott be recommended to the said Parishioners to preach in their Parish Church, on the Lord's Days and Fast Days in the Afternoon, and on Fridays before the Sacrament, as is desired. And Mr. Batty, the now Incumbent there, is hereby required to permit him quietly and peaceably to exercise his Ministry, in Preaching, at the Times aforesaid, without Interruption.
