Beckman's, &c. Nat.
AN ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for naturalizing Sir Martyn Beckman, Knight, and others, was read the Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Steph. Evans, Mr. Bedding feild, Sir Rich Reynell, Mr. Glemham, Mr. Leving, Mr. Gray, Mr. Willmot, Mr. Brereton, Sir Rob. Cotton, Sir John Barker, Sir John Carew, Mr. Freke, Mr. England, Sir Edw. Hussey, Mr. Hawtry, Mr. Thornhaugh, Mr. Hedger, Sir John Dorrell, Sir Tho. Bernardiston, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Cary, Mr. Dalben, Sir Jonath. Jennings, Mr. Henley, Sir Edw. Aiscough, Mr. Onslow, Mr. Watler, Mr. Blowfeild, Sir John Wynne, Sir Hen. Goodrick, Sir Jos. Herne, Sir Christopher Musgrave: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.
Earl of Ailsbury's Estate.
Mr. Christie reported from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the making a Twelve Years Lease made by the Earl and Countess of Ailsbury, for Payment of Debts, which was determinable on their Deaths, to have Continuance absolutely for those Twelve Years, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and are as followeth; viz.
Press 4, Line 3, leave out "Thomas;" and insert "Robert."
Press 4, Line 21, Leave out "Months;" and insert "Years."
Which Amendments being severally read a Second time, were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.
The Bill was read the Third time.
Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be agreed to.
Ordered, That Mr. Christie do carry up the Bill to the Lords; and acquaint them, That this House has agreed to the Bill, with the said Amendments; and desire their Lordships Concurrence to the said Amendments.
London Orphans.
A Bill for Relief of the Orphans of the City of London, was read the First time.
Ordered, That the Bill do lie upon the Table.
Defaulter at Call of the House.
The House being informed that Henry Hening, Esquire, a Member of this House, who was ordered to be committed to the Serjeant at Arms for not attending the Service of the House, hath paid his Fees to the Serjeant;
Ordered, That the said Mr. Hening be admitted into the House.
Publick Accompts.
Then the Order of the Day for taking into Consideration the State of the Accompts and Observations delivered in to the House, from the Commissioners appointed for taking the publick Accompts, was read.
And the House proceeded in the Consideration of several of the said Observations.
Ordered, That the Commissioners appointed for taking the publick Accompts do lay before this House a List of all such Persons who have Salaries, and have made the King pay the Charge of passing their Patents, and passing their Accompts, as also the Taxes upon their Offices.
Ordered, That the said Commissioners do lay before this House a List of those that have great Salaries, and have, upon slight Pretences, got them increased; and who have had extraordinary Bills of incident Charges easily allowed.
Ordered, That the said Commissioners do lay before the House a List of the Salaries which were granted upon special Reasons; and which are still continued, though the Reasons are ceased.
Ordered, That the said Commissioners do lay before this House a List of the excessive Fees that are exacted and taken by the Officers that have great Salaries allowed them for execution of their Places, and for which no legal Precedent appears to justify the same.
Dunwich Election.
Ordered, That the Matter touching the Election for the Borough of Dunwich in the County of Suffolke, be heard before the Committee of Privileges and Elections, upon Saturday next, in the Afternoon.
Ludlow Election.
Ordered, That the Report from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, touching the Election for Ludlow, be made upon Tuesday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock.
Committees.
Ordered, That all Committees be adjourned.
And then the House adjourned until To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
