Prayers.

Answer to Address.

MR. Speaker acquaints the House, That both Houses having last Night attended his Highness the Prince of Orange with the Address, his Highness was pleased to give them an Answer to this Effect;

My Lords and Gentlemen,

I AM glad that what I have done hath pleased you: And, since you desire me to continue the Administration of Affairs, I am willing to accept it. I must recommend to you the Consideration of Affairs abroad, which maketh it fit for you to expedite your Business, not only for making a Settlement at Home upon a good Foundation, but for the Safety of all Europe.

Radnor Borough Election.

A Petition of Wm. Probert, Esquire, complaining of an undue Election and Return of Burgesses, to serve in this present Convention, for the Borough of Radnor in the County of Radnor, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof, and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Manner of filling up Vacancies.

The House then resumed the Consideration of vacant Places of Members to serve in this Convention.

Resolved, That where any Vacancies have already happened, or shall hereafter happen, by Death or Removal of any Members or double Returns, Mr. Speaker do, for the future, upon Motion to this House, by his Letter, make Application to his Highness the Prince of Orange, desiring him to issue out his Letter, directed to the respective Coroner or Coroners or chief Magistrates, as formerly, for the supplying such Vacancies, by electing other Members therein.

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed to draw up the Form of the said Letter from Mr. Speaker to hisHighness.

And it is referred to Mr. Hampden, Mr. Boscowen, Sir Wm. Williams, Sir Theo. Clerges, Sir Tho. Lee, Sir Hen. Goodrike, Mr. Finch, Mr. Jephson, Mr. Gower, Sir Edw. Seymor, or any Three of them, to prepare the same: And they are immediately to withdraw into the Speaker's Chamber for that Purpose; and present the same to the House, with all convenient Speed.

Mr. Hampden reports, from the Committee, That they had agreed upon the Form of such Letter: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was again read; and is as followeth;

May it please your Highness,

IN Obedience to an Order of the Commons, now assembled at Westminster, I am to inform your Highness, that by
there is wanting at this time a Member to serve in this Convention for
and therefore to desire your Highness, that for the filling up the said Vacancy, your Highness' Letter be immediately directed to
for electing a Member to serve in this Convention as for the said

Resolved, That this House do agree with the Committee in the said Form of the said Letter.

Dunwich Election.

A Petition of Sir Philip Skippon, complaining of a Double Return of Burgesses to serve in this present Convention, for the Borough of Dunwich in the County of Suffolke, in Prejudice of the Petitioner, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof, and report the same, with their Opinion therein, to the House.

Guilford Election.

A Petition of Morgan Randill, Esquire, complaining of an undue Return and Election of Burgesses to serve in this present Convention for the Borough of Guilford, in the County of Surrey, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter and report the same, with their Opinion therein, to the House.

Malmsbury Election.

Henry Wharton, Esquire, a Member of this House, acquainting the House, that he is elected and returned to serve as well for the Borough of Malmsbury in the County of Wilts, as for the County of Westmorland, made his Election to serve for the said County:

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do make Application, by his Letter, to his Highness the Prince of Orange, to issue out his Highness's Letter for electing a Burgess to serve in this present Convention, for the Borough of Malmsbury, in the room of the said Mr. Wharton.

Monmouth Borough Vacancy.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do, by his Letter, make Application to his Highness the Prince of Orange, to issue out his Highness's Letter for electing a Burgess to serve in this present Convention, for the Borough of Monmouth, in the room of John Arnold, Esquire, who did Yesterday waive his Election for the said Borough; and made his Election to serve for the Borough of Southwarke, in the County of Surrey.

Adjournment.

Resolved, That this House will adjourn itself until Saturday Morning next.

Committee of Privileges.

Ordered, That the Committee of Elections and Privileges do meet and sit on the usual Days, during the Adjournment of this House.

And then the House adjourned till Saturday Morning next, Ten of the Clock.
