Jovis, 27th December, 1688

The Address to be dated, and presented by the Chairman.

THE Address being ingrossed, and having been examined by the Chairman of the Assembly;

Ordered, That it be dated thus:

Dated at Westminster, the 26th Day of December, 1688.

A Debate arising, whether the Address should be signed, either by the Persons present, or the Chairman;

Resolved, That Mr. Powle, the Chairman, present it as it is ingrossed, without signing.

Book of Proceedings to be kept, &c.

Ordered, That a Book be made of the Proceedings of the Assembly, to be kept among the Journals and Records of the House of Commons; and that the Persons who were here Yesterday do give or send in their Names, to be entered in the Book.

Address presented.

The Earl of Wiltshire acquainting the Assembly, that the Prince of Orange had appointed to receive the Address this Morning, at half an Hour after Eleven a' Clock;

Accordingly the Chairman, with the rest of the Members of the Assembly, went to St. James', to the Prince of Orange; where the Chairman presented, and read the Address:

To which his Highness was pleased to give an Answer to this Effect; "He returned them his hearty Thanks, for the Advice they had given; but that this Business being a Matter of Weight, he would consider thereof, and give his Answer the next Day in the Afternoon."

And then the Assembly adjourned to the next Day at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.
