Prayers.
Regulating Elections.
A PETITION of divers Gentlemen and others, Freeholders of the County of Essex, complaining of divers Irregularities and Abuses in several Elections of Knights of the Shire for the County of Essex, being offered to the House;
And the House, being informed that several of the Petitioners were at the Door, to own the same;
Resolved, That the Petitioners be called in.
Accordingly they were brought to the Bar of the House by the Serjeant, with his Mace; and owned the said Petition.
The Petition was read.
And a Motion being made, that this House will take into their Consideration the Bringing in a Bill for regulating Elections for the future;
Resolved, That it be referred to Sir Fra. Russell, Colonel Tipping, Colonel Mildmay, Sir Christoph. Musgrave, Mr. Love, Mr. Herbert, Sir Tho. Clarges, Mr. Garway, Mr. Hen. Polexfen, Mr. Sacheverell, Sir John Holt, Mr. Dalben, Mr. Hamden, Sir Tho. Lee, Lord Digby, Sir Edw. Harley, Major Wildman, Mr. Medlecott, Sir Geo. Treby, Mr. Somers, Mr. Guise, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Eyres, Mr. Wogan, Mr. Baldwyn, Mr. Hen. Goodrick, Mr. Paul Foley, Mr. Tho. Foley, to prepare a Bill for that Purpose: And they are to meet at Four of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And it is recommended to Sir Geo. Treby, to take Care of the Bill.

Sir Christopher Musgrave informing the House, that he is, by Order from the Lords, summoned to be sworn at the Bar of the House of Lords; and that their Lordships do desire, that this House will give him Leave so to be; and desiring to have the Directions of the House therein;
Resolved, That Sir Christopher Musgrave have Leave to go and be sworn accordingly.
The King's Speech considered.
Then the Order of Yesterday, viz. That this House would this Morning, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration his Majesty's Speech, was read.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Hamden took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Gallery to be kept clear.
The House being informed, that there were in the Gallery, while the Committee of the whole House was sitting, several Persons that were not Members of the House;
Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms, attending this House, do, from time to time, take into his Custody any Stranger, or Strangers, that he shall see, or be informed to be in the House, or Gallery, while the House, or any Committee of the whole House, is sitting.
Revenue of the Crown.
A Motion being made, for the Settling of a Revenue upon the King and Queen;
Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to take the same into Consideration.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
