New Draperies.

L. 1a. AN Act concerning the Searching and Sealing New of [divers] Stuffs, commonly called Draperies.

Cornewayle Election.

Sir Edw. Cooke reporteth from the Committee, concerning * Letters, written about Election of the Knights of the Shire of Cornewayle.

Persons sent

It is Ordered, all the Gentlemen, whose Names are subscribed to the Two Letters, dated, the One, 12o Febr. 1627, the other, 26o Febr. 1627. viz. Reginald Mohun, Wm. Wray, Barnard Greenevyle, John Trelawney, Rich. Edgecombe, John Mohun, Walter Langdon, Rich. Trevanion, and Edw. Trelawney, shall be sent for by the Serjeant at Arms, to attend the House.

Bills of last Parliament.

Ordered, Whosoever hath in his Hands any Bill of the last Parliament, shall bring and deliver them in to the Clerk before this Day sevennight.

Recusants.

Ordered, All the Knights of Shires, and Citizens, and Burgesses, of Cities, and Boroughs, shall bring in the Names of all Recusants, or justly suspected, either by Statute, or Acts of State, according to the Effect of the like Order last Parliament, to the Committee of Religion, upon Monday next; and those, which adjoin to Durham, having no Knights, or Burgesses, to do it.

Sir Jo. Savyle to be sent to, to bring, or send, to the said Committee of Religion, his Book of the Names of Recusants within the Limits of this Commission.

Salt-petre.

L. 1a. An Act for the Getting of Salt-petre, and for the Furnishing of the Realm with great Store, and at easier Prices, than heretofore hath been accustomed.

Coventry Election.

A Case, agreed upon, concerning the Election of the Citizens of Coventry; One Sheriff returning Two Gentlemen of the Country, elected by the major Part, and the other Sheriff returning Two Citizens, resiant in the City; where the Two Gentleman not resiant, nor Freemen of the City.

Upon Question, the Debate, and Determination, [of this] Case to be deferred till To-morrow Morning, and [not] to be begun till after Nine Clock.

Imprisonment.

L. 1a. An Act against long and unjust Detainment of Men in [Prison.]

General Fast.

Sir Jo. Coke bringeth Answer from the Lords ; That they very well approved the Particular for the Petition, and would join with us in it, with Addition only of Two Words, viz. " Lords Spiritual and Temporal;" for which a Blank was left. That they said, they had in their House read twice over, and disliked no One Word of it. That some of them will move the King, to know his Pleasure, when both Houses shall attend him about this Petition. That the Lords take most kindly the Desire of this House to hold Correspondency with them; which they most readily embrace.
