Purveyors.
In the Matter formerly proposed, touching the Abuses of Purveyors, it was now argued, whether it were fittest to proceed by way of Petition to his Majesty, or by Bill; by Mr. Martin, Mr. Hoskins, and Mr. Hyde; and, lastly, by Sir Henry Jenkins, who was observed to mistake the Question; and therefore (to prevent the idle Expence of
Time, was interrupted by Mr. Speaker; and thereupon a Rule conceived:
Members speaking irrelevantly.
That if any Man speak impertinently, or besides the Question in Hand, it stands with the Orders of the House for Mr. Speaker to interrupt him; and to know the Pleasure of the House, whether they will further hear him.
Puryeyors, &c.
Resolved, upon this Dispute, That the Committees, named for Consideration of the Particulars proposed by Sir Robert Wroth, shall prepare a Petition to be presented to his Majesty, touching the Abuses of Purveyors, and Car-takers; and in the mean time, all other Proceeding by Bill to cease.
