Cleere's Estate.

L. 1a. An Act for Sale of certain Lands, which were late Sir H. Cleere's, Knight and Baronet, deceased, for Payment of his Debts.

Grievances.

The Report for the Grievances, unreported, to be upon Thursday next.

Secret Offices.

The Bill against secret Offices (re-committed) reported by Mr. Mallett. - Engrossetur.

Suspected Papists.

Mr. Pymme moveth for Cleydon. - That he hath promised to catechize his Scholars hereafter, and take the Oaths of Supremacy and Allegiance ; and that he would afterwards receive no Scholars, which should not come to Church. That the Committee thought fit to give him an Admonition, and, upon this Promises of his, to dismiss him.

Resolved, He shall be dismissed : And he to bring a Certificate of his taking the Oaths, and bring his Licence.

Ditto.

Mr. Pymme reporteth, that the Committee, is informed by a Member of this House, that one Morgan Lewys, a Schoolmaster in Aburgeny, giveth overt Suspicion, both by himself and his Wife.

Ordered, He shall be sent for to the Committee for Religion.

Privilege.

Mr. Whitby moveth for Sir Rich Gravenor. - That one Dr. Trevers hath entered (during Sir Rich. Gravenor his Attendance) upon his ancient Inheritance, ploughed up his Grounds, and cut down his Timber, &c. Sir Rich. his Tenants for Lives, and Years, having, by Confederacy, yielded up their Estates to Dr. Trevers.

Resolved, To proceed no further in this, till the House better informed of the State of the Case.

The Debate, concerning the Second Stay of the Peter of Newhaven, renewed.

Upon Question, the Second Stay of the St. Peter of Newhaven, by the Duke of Buckingham, after the Decree in the Admiralty, be a Grievance or not: the Question being twice put, the Voice doubtful; the Yea went out:

Mr. Speaker charged with breaking Orders.

There being some Question made, about Mr. Speaker his breaking the Orders of the House, Mr. Speaker (after the Business then in Hand finished) moved the House to proceed in the Examination thereof; but the House, with one Consent, cleared Mr. Speaker, and stayed any further Contestation about it.

Articles against D. of Buckingham.

A Petition, with Articles annexed, from the Lord Digby, tendered to the House ; and that, and the Articles, read.

The Lord Digby called in, to avow the Hand, subscribed, to be his own Hand-writing : Brought to the Bar [it being down] with the Mace.

Being demanded by Mr. Speaker, whether the Name, subscribed to the Petition, be his own Hand-writing, avoweth that, and the Articles annexed ; and that the Name, subscribed to the Petition, is of his own Hand-writing.

Resolved, To defer the Debate hereof till To-morrow Morning, Eight Clock.
