Mr. Weston: - The Insufficiency of Jurors a great Scandal to Trials at the Common Law; which hath procured the great -

Mr. Salisbury: - To have this Bill extend also to Wales. - So Sir J. Perrott.

Sir Geor. Moore: - That, in many Places, hard to find Freeholders, of 10l. Land; and hard to discern the Value of Mens Goods.

Mr. Cage: - To have Copyholders, of good Value, serve. - In many Places Four Divisions. - To have the Sheriff return all Venire fac. who hath no Issues in Farm, as many others have.

Sir Edw. Gyles: Not to leave it to the Under-sheriff to present the Names at the Quarter Sessions.

Informers.

Mr. Serjeant Hitcham and Sir Wm. Byrd bring a Message from the Lords, concerning the Bill of Informers; wherein they find many Difficulties. - Desire a Conference, Two of the Clock, with 24 of their House; and that the Committee, from hence, may have Power both to hear, answer, and debate.

Sir H. Poole: - To hold their Time; but to send for Sir Ed. Coke, and Mr. Crew, to attend.

Jurors.

Master of the Wards: - This Bill of great Importance : The King's Affection discovered to it: This delivered to the Subjects in the Country, and the Honour of the House now engaged. -

Sir Sam. Sands: - That this Bill hath a good Face, but very dangerous, and will be very distasteful to the Freeholders of the Country. - 1. Against the Justices of Peace looking into all Mens Estates of Lands and Goods. - How shall they do it? By Commission, or at Random? If at Random; may bring in Friends, and so pack Juries: If a Record thereof; 10 l. Land will be a Means to draw them into great Charge at the Subsidy.

Sir Edw. Coke: - Substantial Juries necessary: Our Lives, Lands, and Goods, are subject to this Trial. - Nobiles superiores, they of the Upper House: And they are to be tried by any of the Upper House: And Nobiles inferiores; which are all the Commons, under the Upper House. - Most sufficient, and most near the Place, and least suspicious. - A great Safety, to be tried by those, which know him, if he be an honest Man. -

When he a Counsellor at Law, would never advise the Sum to be set down in Conveyances, upon Assuring of Lands to a Man's Son. -

Committed to Sir Edw. Coke, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Sir D. Digges, Sir H. Spiller, Sir Myles Sands, Sir Jerome Horsey, Sir Geor. Moore, Sir M. Sands, Sir Francis Goodwyn, Mr. Noye, Sir J. Perrott, Mr. Wentworth, Sir Guy Palmes: And as many as will come to have Voices: - Tuesday in the Afternoon, Two Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber.

The Bill of Limitations to be debated To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, and all the Lawyers to attend then; and the same Bill to be read again, in respect the Debate hath been so long discontinued.
