Roger's Relief.

1. Reading: - B. To reduce to the Crown the Inheritance of Lands given by his Majesty, in default of Heirs Males of the Bodies of the Donees.

3. Reading : - Act for the better Discovering and Repressing of Popish Recusants, and the Education of the Children : - One whole Hour and a Quarter in reading; - 12 Press of Parchment, and a Half; - Passed upon the Question.

Some Exception taken to the Article (where a Recusant is said to be excommunicate ipso facto) by Mr. Bond: - Savour of Injustice and Impiety. - Answered, and taxed for it, by Mr. D. James, and Mr. Recorder.

A Message from the Lords by Sir John Crook and Mr. D. Stanhope, in the midst of Reading of the Bill; -
Have considered of the Message for a second Conference, touching the Purveyors: - That, albeit such second Conference be rare, and extraordinary; yet because they are so willing to receive Satisfaction, they do willingly assent : - The former Committee, attended with the Judges and Counsel at Law: - Tomorrow in the Afternoon.
