Watermen.

THE Bill concerning Wherrymen, or Watermen, brought in, by Mr. Johnson, from the Committee, with Amendments; and ordered to be ingrossed.

Committees.

The Committee for the Bill for Erecting of a Church in Blindlie Boroughs, adjourned till Monday, eodem loco.

The Committee for the Bill to place the Children born ....

Assert Lands.

Mr. Fuller bringeth in the Bill of Asserts, from the Committee, with Amendments: And upon the Question, Ingrossetur.

Melcombe Regis Church.

Mr. D. James bringeth in the Bill for Erecting of a Church in Melcombe Regis, &c. with a Vacat; and prayeth the reading of the new Bill.

Courts Leet.

Mr. Fuller bringeth in, from the Committee, the Bill to prevent the Overcharge of the People, by Stewards, &c. with Amendments : And ordered to be ingrossed.

Starch- making

The Bill for the Redress and Reformation of sundry Abuses, concerning the Making of Starch: - The first Reading.

Bruce's Nat.

Mr. Moore bringeth, from the Committees, the Bill for the Naturalizing of Sir Edw. Bruce, Lord of Kinlosse, and for Confirmation of Letters Patents made unto him, without any Amendment.

Mr. Johnson: - Si ter pulsanti nemo respondet, abito. -

Against the Bill, in Matter of the Leases of Leneux Lands.

A Proviso offered to this Bill, by Mr. Johnson, and once read; for the Saving of all Leases, made by the late Queen, or the Lord of Kinlosse.

Privilege - King's Warrant for detaining a Prisoner.

Mr. Speaker returneth an Account, touching the Bill against A. B.

The King made acquainted with it: - Concerns the Government of the State, in the Queen's Time: And, being Matter of Treason, only concerning himself, he hath assumed the examination, and doth not think it fit, it should be examined . . .

A Warrant from the King, to the Lieutenant, to commit Bridger, read in the House, and to be entered here,

Bridger to be stayed as a Prisoner by the King's Commandment ; not to impeach the former Order of this House, but only for Matter, concerning his State and Government. -

Conference on Religion.

The Place of Conference, for Religion, to be altered, this Afernoon, to the Council Chamber; because the King, after the Conference, hath a Purpose to speak somewhat

Privilege - Mr. Speaker's withdrawing a Bill.

Mr. Martin: - Not to have it drawn into Precedent, that any Speaker should receive a Bill, being trusted by the House, and deny to read it, or withdraw it from the

House, or inform the King, or any other, before the House be acquainted.

Sir Wm. Fleetwood concurs.

Mr. Hackwell: - To be Petitioner to the King, for the Bill.

Examining Jones.

Sir John Mallorie: - That some of the House might be present at the Examination of Jones.

The Warden to be brought up.

A Letter from the Warden of the Fleet, submitting himself to the House, read, and commanded to be registered.

Mr. Hoskins: - Not by way of Letter, but by Petition to the House.

Sir Rob. Wingfield: - That theWarden may be brought to the House, and there acknowlege his Fault.

Resolved, upon the Question,Thathe should be brought to ....

In the mean time, to be freed from Little Ease.
