Tythes.

Sir Francis Hastings reporteth from the Committee, the Bill for Explanation, and more due Execution, of the Decree, made by virtue of an Act, made 37 H. VIII. for Tythes in London, as mischievous and injurious; and therefore they thought fit to draw a new Bill: And brought in a new Bill, with the same Title; which had a first Heading.

Plague.

The Bill for the charitable Relief and Ordering of Persons infected with the Plague, returned from the Committee, by Sir Jo. Heigham, with amendment; and, upon the Question, ordered to be ingrossed.

Littleton's Restitution.

Mr. Overberry bringeth in, from the Committees, the Bill of Restitution of the Littletons, Three Sons, and Three Daughters.

Sir Tho. Cornwall to be heard, with his Counsel, for a Proviso, offered in his behalf.

The Bill for the Naturalizing of John Gordon, Dean of Sarum, brought in by Mr. Overberry, without Alteration.

The Bill for a Subsidy of Tonage and Poundage, with the Proviso for Chester, reported from the Committee, by Mr. Lawton; and the Proviso, being twice formerly read in the House, and now put to the Question, after much Dispute, rejected.

Bill of Poundage, being altered, Sir Maurice Barkley moved, to know, whether that Bill were of Necessity, of Policy, or merely as a Gratuity, Argued, that it was neither of Necessity, nor Policy, but a mere Gratuity: Which might well quell the Rumour of Distaste between the King and the Lower House. - Sir H.
