(1) The Auditors [of Imprests being the Auditors] of First Fruits and Tenths are to take an account from Prettiman of all bonds for First Fruits now remaining in his hands. Thereupon Prettyman is to deliver said bonds to said Porter: (2) and similarly to deliver to him all records, books, papers etc. belonging to the Office of Remembrancer of First Fruits, by indenture. (3) Prettiman is to deliver to said Auditors a book specifying all the compositions made since Dec. 31 last: (4) also all the institutions and collations made by archbishops and bishops. After copying same (to enable them to charge said Prettiman) said auditors are to deliver same to said Porter. (5) Hereafter as soon as such institutions and collations are certified by archbishops and bishops to said Porter he is to send same to the Auditors who are to copy same to enable them to charge him with the moneys payable thereon for First Fruits. (6) When any person comes to make composition for First Fruits Porter shall make out a bill specifying what he compounds for and send same to said Auditors, who are to check same and return it, and thereon Porter is to take bond for the same payable at such time as the law requires unless a longer time be given by privy seal. (7) When the bondee comes to pay the bond Porter shall give him a solvendum which he is to carry to the Receiver [of First Fruits] who, upon receipt of the money, is to give him
acquittance for said sum and upon sight of said acquittance Porter is to deliver up the bond. (8) Upon receipt of said acquittance Porter is to charge said Receiver with said sum. (9) Porter shall safely keep for his Majesty's use all bonds and securities and shall be answerable for same, including those in arrear at Christmas, 1680, and for the moneys due thereon. (10) Porter not to receive any moneys whatsoever of First Fruits, either on compositions or bonds. Such moneys are to be received and accounted for properly by the Receiver thereof. (11) If moneys compounded for or secured by bond be not paid when due Porter is to make out process from his office for recovery thereof, according to the course of the Exchequer and shall take care that same be duly returned by the sheriff and that thereupon said sheriff be duly apposed and called to a strict examination before the Barons of the Exchequer and the said Barons are to fine said sheriffs if negligent. If any money be levied by virtue of such process Porter is to make a certificate thereof to the Receiver [of First Fruits] and shall not discharge the sheriff that shall levy the same until the Receiver give an acquittance for the money. (12) If any person instituted or collated do not compound for First Fruits within the time limited by law Porter is to cause process to issue against him. (13) In January next Porter shall make account to the said Auditors of all compositions made by and of all bonds delivered to him up to said date; (14) and shall make such account thereafter yearly in January; (15) and shall deliver such accounts for declaration before the Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer according to the ancient custom of declaring those accounts. (16) When the said Auditors shall return to said Porter any certificates from bishops or archbishops, specifying persons who have not paid their Tenths, Porter shall immediately issue out commissions or process to the archbishops or bishops for levying thereof in manner as heretofore accustomed and shall continue same till said arrear be levied. If any archbishop or bishop refuse or neglect to execute any such commission Porter is to acquaint the Treasury Lords or Exchequer Court therewith. (17) Upon receiving from any archbishop or bishop any return of moneys received by virtue of any such commission, Porter is to shew same to the said Auditors and leave them a signed copy thereof to the end said Auditors may charge said archbishop or bishop upon their respective accounts [of Tenths]. |

Prefixing: (a) note of said petition: (b) report dated 1681–2, Jan. 20, from said Jno. Fisher. I find the weir and fishing of Gilgarran and of three drag nets there with the appurtenances were demised by the late Commissioners of the Prince's [Charles] revenue to William Ward and Gerard Wright by indenture dated June 22, 1636, for 31 years at 10l. per an. rent. This lease expired in 1667 and [the weir] being wholly ruined and in decay the rent has been ever since lost and no suitor has desired a lease thereof. A lease may be granted for 31 years at 2l. per an. rent for the first seven years and 10l. per an. for the remainder; the lessee to be obliged to re-edify said weir and keep it in repair. As for the fines, issues and other casual profits in cos. Pembroke and Cardigan the lease thereof granted to George Barlow at 11l. 11s. 0d. per an. rent expired at 1681, Sept. 29.
