March 22. Henry Guy to the Customs Commissioners to admit to an entry, on payment of duty, the 4 horses belonging to Sir Gabriel Sylvius, lately landed at Greenwich from Holland without leave of Mr. Tombes the tidesurveyor because of the bad weather. Out Letters (General), p. 443.
Same to the Attorney General to draft a commission to authorise Mr. Blathwayte to receive the revenue arising to the King from the Plantations, etc., in Africa and America; consulting Blathwayte thereon and leaving blanks for the term and salary. Ibid.

March 22. Treasury warrant to Henry Guy to receive the principal and interest assigned to you this day by Lemuel Kingdon of the 1,650l. 17s. 10d., part of the principal sum of 7,000l. (which was made payable to said Kingdon by the order of loan No. 87 registered on the last Poll Act); and also all the interest due thereon, when the said principal and interest come in course to be paid at the Exchequer out of the moneys of said Act, and thereupon to immediately repay same into the Exchequer as money received by you to his Majesty's use to be issued thence as appointed. March 23. Money warrant for 18l. 5s. 0d. to Sir William Bishop for one year to 1679, Christmas, on his fee of 12d. a day as Serjeant at Arms attending the House of Commons, and for 82l. 2s. 6d. to same to make his said fee equal to that of the rest of the Serjeants at Arms, same having been usually paid him. Money order for 18l. 5s. 0d. to Rebecca Lowe, relict of William Lowe, late one of the Queen's Grooms, being half a year to 1674, June 24, on his allowance of 2s. a day. Order Book XXXVIII, p. 97.
Henry Guy to the four Tellers of the Receipt. Until Midsummer next, for what money Mr. Duncombe charges in the Exchequer on the Customs or loans, you are to accept his bill or note for the same, which bill or note you are to deliver when the money is directed upon you by the Auditor of the Receipt. Out Letters (General), p. 446.
Same to the Ordnance Commissioners. The Treasury Lords have directed 1,000l. per week to be issued at the Exchequer for 3 weeks to Sir George Wharton for the Ordnance, same to be issued out of loans made by Mr. Kent and Mr. Duncombe. Hereof 500l. per week is to be applied to provide stores for Tangier and 500l. per week for such immediate growing uses in the Office of Ordnance as you shall think most expedient. Ibid.
Same to the Auditor of the Receipt. Mr. Kent and Mr. Duncombe have agreed to lend into the Exchequer 1,000l. a week for 3 weeks. You are to issue same as above. Ibid, p. 447.
Henry Guy to the Customs Commissioners to have opended at St. James's House the Duchess of Modena's goods which are arrived from Brussels in the Mary yacht and to deliver same, Customs free, except any prohibited French goods. If there be any goods which ought to pay subsidy the Treasury Lords will discharge same regularly by warrant as soon as they meet. Out Letters (General), p. 446. Out Letters (Custom), p. 203.

March 25. L[awrence] Hyde, [one of the Lords of the Treasury], to the Customs Commissioners forwarding for their observance an Order of Council made yesterday. Most of the Treasury Lords being out of town I am not empowered by myself alone to sign an order to you in this matter, but I desire you to execute it, and when the Treasury Lords meet again I will send for it back and will take care you have from them such instructions as are necessary. March 27. Money order for 82l. 2s. 6d. to Sir William Bishop for one year to 1679, Christmas, as Serjeant at Arms attending the House of Commons, as a reward for his service in attending said House and to make his fee equal with the fees and allowances of the rest of the Serjeants at Arms. Order Book XXXVIII, p. 103.
Treasury warrant to the Auditor of the Receipt to issue to Edward Seymour on any unsatisfied, unappropriated orders in his name 5,000l. for 2 weeks (ending to-day) on the allowance of 2,500l. per week for the service of the Navy: to be issued out of Customs money in the Exchequer. The like for 1,000l. to same for the Victualler for two weeks (ending to-day) of their allowance: to be issued out of same.
March 29. Money order for 1,000l, to Richard Kent and Charles Duncombe in repayment of so much by them lent into the Exchequer this day: with 6 per cent. interest, etc. Order Book XXXVIII, p. 100.
March 30. Treasury warrant to the Receipt for a tally to discharge the baronet fee of 1,095l. due to the King from Sir Roger Bradshaigh of Haigh, co. Lancs. Money Book, p. 61.
Money warrant for the following sums to Sir Leoline Jenkins as late one of the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiaries for the Peace at Nimuegen, viz.: 1,128l. 11s. 5d. for his ordinary, 1679, June 8, to Aug. 26, on which latter date he returned into his Majesty's presence as is certified by the Earl of Sunderland; 1,401l, 19s. 4d. and 1,548l. 14s. 8d. for extraordinaries upon two bills allowed Nov. 14 last by the Earl of Sunderland. The above sums (together with the 826l. 14s. 6d. due to him on an order dated 1676, Aug. 2, for extraordinaries in his late embassy at Cologne) are to be satisfied by tallies on the Hearthmoney rent due 1680, Sept. 20.
