Cave that no life be added or any alteration made
in the lease of Welton farm, parcel of the manor
of Midsomer Norton, co. Somerset, till notice be given
to Mr. Mog, the late tenant : such notice to be
left with Mr. Heath at his house near the Crown
Tavern, in Bloomsbury, or with Mr. John Ward
(who enters this caveat) at his house in Henrietta
Street, Covent Garden. Mr. John Tooker is the
person suspected to sue for a new lease.
Mr. Tooker also desires that nothing may be done
in the premises to his prejudice (having already
got Sir Charles Harbord's report [as Surveyor
General of Crown lands, viz., to Treasurer Danby
on his, Tooker's, petition for said premises]) till
notice be given to Mr. Anthony Trethewy at his
house in Portugal Row, in Lincolns Inn Fields
or to himself at Norton Hall, near Bath.

Treasurer Danby to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland.
You will receive the King's letter countersigned by
the Secretary of State directing the payment of the
4,000l. yet due for the Customs of Londonderry
[same being to be paid] out of the surplusage of the
rent payable by the present Farmers of the Revenue
of Ireland for the first year of their farm, viz., to
Christmas last ; which [surplus] will remain after
the establishment [military and civil] there, and
the interest allowed for their [the said Farmers']
advance [money] are paid off and after the paying
and returning over hither [to London] to my brother
[in law] Bertie for the further carrying on the
buildings at Windsor of the sum directed by the
royal warrant of April 16 last. That there will be
then enough left of the said year's rent of 240,000l.
to satisfy this Londonderry debt I conclude because
all the payments which I can find have been directed
to be paid out of it, make up together only
234,567l. 2s. 9d. as follows :

Report to the King from Treasurer Danby on the
petition of Mary Kirk, widow, as by the order
of reference of Nov. 21 last. By patent dated
Oxford, 1645-6, Feb. 24, Charles I granted to
petitioner an annuity of 500l. as a jointure in consideration
of 2,500l. paid to the King by George
Kirke, her husband : said annuity to be received
for life out of the profits of the Honor of Grafton
after her husband's death. The Surveyor General
of Crown Lands reports hereon to me that said
grant might have legally charged the Receiver [of said
Honor] so long as said Honor remained in your
hands, but in making up the rate of the Queen
Consort's jointure, the said annuity could not
be reprized out of the Queen's value (Mr. Kirk
being then alive) because the said grant was not of the
lands or rents of said Honor, but payable out of them
only after Mr. Kirk's death, which was contingent
and uncertain.
