(Total charge, 18,083l. 3s. 7½d. (viz., 5,500l. received out of the Exchequer and 12,583l. 3s. 7½d. as the value of farthings and half-pence) : total discharge, 12,717l. 13s. 7½d. Nov. 28 Same of the account of Sir Jno. Griffith, Sir Phillip Froud, Edmund Warcup and Richard Downes, Esq., Agents and Commissioners for the Wine Licences, viz., for three quarters 1670, June 24, to 1671, Mar. 25. Total charge, 9,300l. 5s. 8d. (viz., 9,244l. 12s. 2d. total rent and 55l. 13s. 6d. for composition money and law charges) : total discharge, 9,220l. 9s. 11d. ; depending in super, 323l. 15s. 6d. ; thus leaving a surplusage of 243l. 19s. 9d.
Followed by :—Warrant from Treasurer Danby to the Comptroller of the Pipe for no process to issue against the persons set in super by the accomptants as above without particular order from the Treasury, "because they have given bonds or other securities for payment thereof to the accomptants and process is issued out of the Remembrancer's office against the said persons and their sureties upon the said bonds for recovery of the said moneys at the instance and prosecution of the said accomptants."

April 20 Same of same, dated 1674-5, Feb., of a warrant to the Commissioners of Prizes to pay 200l. to Capt William Hobbs for his service in bringing home the East India prize ship "Europe" : to be paid out of any money arising by the sale of prize goods, but if such moneys have been applied to other uses then to be paid out of the Exchequer. July 30 Privy seal for the issue to William Chiffinch for the King's secret service of what shall come into the Exchequer of the debt of 811l. 3s. 5½d. owing upon the account ended at Mich., 1670, of Major Norton, late Receiver of the King's revenue in the Archdeaconry of Richmond and counties of Durham and Northumberland. July 31 Same for 1,000l. for the first year and 500l. yearly afterwards for putting and keeping in good repair the King's house called Audley End, in Essex, and for fitting, altering and converting the White Yard and outbuilding next thereto and part of the back yard next the garden and old building therein next the barn for the Office of Works for work room, store room and yard needful for that service.
