Aug. 4. To take care to quicken the process against Oakes for his arrear upon the Hearthmoney.
[? Warrant for] Sir William Turner.
Stop of process ordered against Major Broxholm till further order.
[Same] against Mr. Lyndsey till next term.
Enquire how the rents of the Isle of Wight have been answered for the time past.
See Mr. Slingsby's privy seal for 800l. per an., or thereabouts, upon the salt farm, and quere to what uses the same hath been employed.
A letter to be written to the Farmers of the Four and a Half per cent. to bring in their accounts without fail on the 25th inst. and to attend [with them] then at the Treasury Chambers.

Aug. 15.
Treasury Chambers.
Present : Lord Treasurer.
The Farmers of [the Four and a Half per cent. duty in] Barbados are called in. The Lord Treasurer acquaints them that he expects money from them. They answer that there is to the value of about 5,000l. in goods coming home and pray defalcations for the time past. Col. Strode says that the management of the two first years of this farm has passed through his hands of which he is ready to give an accompt. The Lord Treasurer directs that the accompts of the third year be made up when the Farmers come to demand defalcations and that [it is] to be presented within a week after the King's return to town.
Mr. Edward Nelthorp, merchant, is to have an assignment of 490l. 1s. 4d. upon Sir Charles Wheeler's privy seal : which Col. Strode consents to.
The Lord Treasurer directs that Auditor Aldworth give the Farmers [of the Four and a Half per cent.] a copy of the state of the accompt for the first two years [of the farm] : which he has drawn up.

Aug. 20. The Lord Treasurer was pleased to give direction that no warrant shall pass for payment of money to the goldsmiths on the score of interest or otherwise until they shall deliver to the Auditor an account upon oath of what value of old Navy bills and tickets they put to account with Mr. [sic? for Sir Thomas] Lyttelton upon their advance of money to him for the service of the Navy.
